N.C. State's football players and coaches make a second annual trip to visit the Wounded Warrior Barracks, where injured and ill Marines convalesce as a way of thanking the war veterans and adding a sobering dose of reality to the team. A group of a dozen Marines, most age 19 to 22, spent an hour and a half talking with the Wolfpack contingent.

At the beginning of the event, Capt. Ray Baronie, the battalionâ€™s executive officer, gave a speech thanking the football players for their visit.

For the second consecutive year, the Wolfpack paid a visit to Camp Lejeune, spending time with members of the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battalion, a program that allows injured and sick marines a chance to recover among their peers

“Everybody has their different jobs in life,” said N.C. State offensive lineman Sam Jones. “Me personally, I've been blessed enough to play football and do this job. And to have them look up and say ‘Wow, you play football,’ I’m like ‘Wow, you protect me and the rest of the country.’”
