Rabbitt at rest

OK, so while I may have been safe yesterday from the critters in our yard (see post from a few minutes ago), I just discovered that it wasn't exactly safe for the for the critters in our yard. When we went out back to assess the tree fallout from last night's storm, we made the startling discovery that, Jimmy Carter to the contrary, rabbitts are not good swimmers. Or at least they don't know how to use a pool ladder. For there, in the four-foot end, lay a soggy, stiff bunny. We retrieved the corpse using a 10-foot pole and gave it a proper pet funeral (that is, the kind parents give when the kids aren't looking).

R.I.P., little dude.
