Heading out to the Festival for the Eno over the next three days? Then be sure to work a paddle trip into yours plans.
Once again, Frog Hollow Outdoors of Durham will be offering rides at the top of the hour on the mill pond that backs up from the dam at West Point on the Eno city park, the Festival's venue. FHO's Banks Dixon tells us he'll have about 10 canoes and 8 single kayaks available at $14 per canoe, $8 for the kayaks. Profits go to the Eno River Association; the Festival is the non-profit's main fundraiser to buy and protect land along the Eno.
It's great paddling with still water (OK, there is a barely perceptible current). Good for novices, great for escaping the heat, which always manages to find the Festival.
