I may not have made y'all feel bad this morning about not taking advantage of the stellar early season conditions at your favorite local ski slope, but it apparently bummed me a little. Instead of going snowboarding, I did the next best thing: I went longboarding.
Did I mention I was carying two bags of groceries in my day pack?
Early on, we realized we were short an item or two for Thanksgiving dinner, so we all chose our favorite alternative wheeled conveyance and made the mile and a half trip to the neighborhood Teeter. Marcy was on the Trikke, the kids were on a single speed road bike and roller blades, respectively. We road the hood, did a short stretch of greenway, took advantage of the vast emptiness that was the parking lot at Cary Towne Center. For me, that equated to two and a half hours of longboarding.
Hmm. That's roughly the equivalent of a half day on the slopes, which would have run me about $30 or so for a half-day ticket. And it didn't cost me a cent!
Woo-hoo! Ride the mall lot — it's the best bargain going.
