Call for New Year's Day hikes, rides, runs ... whatever

Here's how I like to spend my January 1st: The Spin Cycle New Year's Day Ride at 10 a.m., Eno River Association New Year's Day Hike at 2 p.m. ... and if there was something scheduled in the evening, I'd do that, too. In fact, that gap between noon (the end of the bike ride) and 2 (the start of the hike) is a little pesky, too.

Which is why I'm putting together a list (to be published in the N&O's Arts & Living section on Dec. 28) of everything outdoor related that's going on New Year's Day. If you're planning, or know of, an active event scheduled for New Year's Day, let me know about it and I'll include it in the list. Hikes, runs, rides — and does anyone know if they still do the Scuba dive out at Fantasy Lake?

No event is too small. If you wouldn't mind a little company, share.
