CHAPEL HILL — Freshman point guard Larry Drew II was pleased to score the 100th point of UNC's 108-70 win over College of Charleston on Wednesday, thus earning fans the two-sausage-biscuits special.
"You always hear them screaming for the biscuits, and don't blame 'em, biscuits is cool,'' he said.
But his breakaway layup with 3:51 left was noteworthy for another reason, too: It marked the first time since Dec. 6, 1977 that the Cougars allowed an opponent to score in triple digits.

Duke's the No. 2 team in the country. You may have read that on ACC Now but not the print edition.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski would like everyone to note that the Blue Devils are No. 2 in the coaches and AP polls in the first full week of January.
"I don't even think it was mentioned in the newspapers here, that we were No. 2 in the polls," Coach K said after Duke's 79-67 win over Davidson on Wednesday. "Fact, I know it wasn't mentioned, so I guess nobody really cares.
CHAPEL HILL — North Carolina senior Marcus Ginyard went through pre-game warm-ups, but did not play during the No. 3 Tar Heels' 108-70 victory on Wednesday against College of Charleston.
Why?
“I didn’t feel like playing him tonight; he’s been struggling quite a bit and he’s just not where we wanted him to be at that time and decided not to play him,’’ coach Roy Williams said.

CHAPEL HILL — Well, that’s more like it.
Three days after losing its No. 1 ranking, its first game of the season and its chance to go undefeated, No. 3 North Carolina bounced back Wednesday with a 108-70 blowout of College of Charleston at the Smith Center.
The Tar Heels’ defense wasn’t seamless, what with the Cougars shooting 46.9 percent in the first half and one of UNC’s best stoppers, Marcus Ginyard, sitting on the bench for the entire game.
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Reggie Holmes scored 25 points, and Morgan State rallied from a 14-point deficit in the final 12 minutes to shock Maryland 66-65 Wednesday night, ending the Terrapins' seven-game winning streak.
The Bears (6-8), a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference team based in Baltimore, were 0-5 against the Terrapins (11-3) in a series that began in 1988.
A 3-pointer by Jermaine Bolden completed a 21-5 run that put the Bears up 61-59 with 2:15 left. After Greivis Vasquez made two free throws for Maryland, Holmes scored on a tip-in to put Morgan State back in front.
BOSTON (AP) — Boston College coach Al Skinner had been warning his players all along. It showed they didn't listen.
Jeremy Lin scored 27 points to lead Harvard to an 82-70 upset over No. 17 Boston College on Wednesday night, three days after the Eagles upset previously top-ranked North Carolina.
"I tried to pre-warn them," said Skinner after one of the Eagles' more disappointing regular season losses in many years. "We were capable of being this team and capable of being another team."

DURHAM — Duke wants to go where Davidson went last March — deep into the NCAA Tournament. Davidson wants to get back to the Southern Conference schedule.
No. 2 Duke outclassed Davidson and star Stephen Curry for a 79-67 win at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night.
Curry got his points, a game-high 29, and led a second-half charge, but Duke held the Wildcats off for their 13th win in 14 games.
CBS College Sports Network will televise East Carolina's basketball game at Marshall at 3 p.m. Saturday as part of a Conference USA doubleheader. Carter Blackburn and a familiar name to ACC fans, former Virginia coach Pete Gillen, will call the action. The Memphis-Central Florida game follows at 5 p.m.
The network isn't typically part of any standard or basic package on cable or satellite TV. Time Warner Cable subscribers can get it on a digital sports tier, where it's on channel 327. DirecTV offers it on channel 152 to subscribers of the Premier package, the most expensive. Dish Network has the network on channel 152 of its America's Top 200 package, which is about half the price of the monthly DirecTV deal.
