Durham County to shift solid waste decal issue dates

Bookmark and Share

If you're a Durham County resident, you shouldn't worry if you haven't received a new solid waste decal for 2011. The county is implementing a new way of issuing the decals, which enable residents who live outside of the city limits to access solid waste and recycling convenience sites.

Residents usually receive new decals in the mail at the end of each calendar year, but the county is changing it to match the fiscal year schedule. Those who have a 2010 decal will get an extension, and a new decal will be delivered with your 2011 real estate tax bill.

New and reissued decals will now be purchased in the Durham County Tax Administration Office, located on the first floor of the Durham County Administrative Building at 200 E. Main St.

For more information about this change, visit the frequently asked questions on the tax office's website or call (919) 560-0300.
