Do the words hornswoggle, mollycoddle and whippersnapper make you giggle? They are among the 100 Funniest Words in English, according to one list. I am partial to No. 71: namby-pamby. I especially like how William Shatner sneers it in a Priceline commercial. Some words that aren't on that list but are suggested on a list at Inherently Funny: conniption, persnickety and poppycock. Do you have other suggestions?
AlphaDictionary also has a list of the 100 Most Beautiful Words in English. Loquacious, peccadillo and serendipity are on that list. Defenestration
Tue, 03/17/2009 - 10:38 — rbeardA lot of funny words were omitted. Defenestration is, no doubt, one. Others brought to the author's attention (so far) include: Poppycock, scallywag, popinjay, spatula, whang-doodle, fiddle-faddle (and a host of rhyming compounds), flapdoodle, upsidaisy, and scrumptious. However, why focus on the negative when 100 of them are in one place, carefully chosen to be funnier than the ones omitted (well, maybe with one or two exceptions). We should be discussing whether 'formication' or 'smellfungus' is the funniest English word in the world, not what was overlooked or not chosen for reason. (The Author)

Tue, 10/07/2008 - 15:52 — baldezarWell, somewhere the other day I learned 'interrobang,' which I think is kinda funny.
And to your first list, I don't understand the omission of defenestration, which is funnier than plain old fenestration, except perhaps in Prague.
Milquetoast, maybe.
