Back from hiatus: Triangle Grammar Guide quiz

I've been thinking about how people learn English as a second language and studying inflection, including the way we make plurals and possessives. So here is a short quiz on possessives for native speakers as well as for those who have learned or are learning English as a second language.

Not smart

Thought I was smart. I'm not. Got 40%. Argh! Flog me!

Which county is that?

Sorry to highjack your comments for an unrelated complaint, but I never did find anywhere better to post issues like this.

Last night and again this morning, the main page of the website has stories about the DUI scandal in Johnston County. Except that the cutline last night and the headline this morning omit the T and are apparently talking about bad guys in Kansas or Texas - the closest Johnson Counties I can find.

If McClatchy is thinning the ranks, perhaps they could begin with those who know nothing about the area they live in and are supposed to be covering.

hiatus

Until today, I did not know that hiatus has a meaning in linguistics, of which two examples are Triangle and hiatus. Is your title clever or just fortuitous, or half each?
