Fans of Villano’s Unfamous Marinade can rejoice. It has returned.
In the mid-1990s, Peter Villano of Hillsborough made his marinade for beef, chicken, pork and fish. At one time, it was sold at grocery stores all over the Triangle and beyond. Villano went on to own a specialty food store and a restaurant in Hillsborough. Both closed a few years later, as did his marinade business.
But six months ago, Villano started selling the marinade at the Hillsborough Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings. A five-ounce bottle costs about $6.
