The Blogosphere: Varmint Bites, Chef Shirle and more

Each Tuesday, I try to share what is interesting me out in the food blogosphere. I've finally dug out my desk post-vacation so I can spend some time cruising the blogs. I think I'll stay local in this blog update.

The first blog post I want to share is from local blogger, Dean McCord of Varmintbites, and his stint inside the Herons kitchen to work a dinner shift. The first part is about his prep work before dinner; I pity any man who has to brunoise shallots. The second is about dinner service; and it looks like there are more posts to come.

Over at Rockin' The Stove, Chef Shirle's Vegan brunch is no longer a travelling roadshow. Here's her post

And I wanted to point out this local blog, boyandgirleatout. This couple, rendered on the blog in stick figure drawings, gives reviews of restaurants, mainly in Cary.  Their stick figure faces change based on whether their reviews are positive or negative. If you live in or near Cary, the blog is a good starting point.
