Reminder: Chefs event at Carrboro Farmers' Market

Bookmark and Share

This Saturday is the "Chefs Who Shop at the Market" event at the Carrboro Farmers' Market. The chefs will be serving up samples of dishes made from ingredients sold at the market.

The theme is "Blue Plate Special" so the recipes are economical.

The list of chefs and their menu items are pretty impressive:

Kevin Callaghan/Acme – Zephyr Squash Cassserole with Arugula Pesto
Bret Jennings/Elaine’s on Franklin –  Fried Okra with Pickled Corn Aioli
Ricky Moore/Glasshalfull – Moussaka with Goat and a Warm Cinnamon Biscuit with Apple Preserves
Matt & Sheila Neal/Neal’s Deli – Slow Roasted Broad Beans
Adam Rose/Il Palio – Turkey Pot Pie
Bill Smith/Crook’s Corner – Mac & Cheese with Red Sauce
Amy Tornquist/Watts Grocery – Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf

The event starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until the food runs out. That usually happens around 11 a.m. so get there early.

Copies of the recipes will be available.
