Pavlov's Dogs now serving in downtown Raleigh for lunch

Bookmark and Share

Pavlov's Dogs, a hot dog cart familiar to the late-night crowd in downtown Raleigh, is now serving lunch every weekday outside the Wells Fargo building.

Pavlov's Dogs is the work of Alex Cato and Daniel Franchi, both 26, who wandered out of a bar one night last year in downtown Raleigh, found themselves hungry and unable to get anything good to eat. And so, long story short, they agreed to open their own business. Cato says they decided: "We'll do the best hot dogs there are."

They serve Nathan's all-beef hot dogs on a potato roll with fun, quirky toppings, Cato says. For example, Cato's favorite is the Peno Popper Dog with sour cream, Western-style chili, shredded cheese, jalapenos and Texas Pete hot sauce. They also serve a veggie dog and gluten-free dog.

They are open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday on Fayetteville Street and 11 p.m.-3 a.m. Friday and Saturday on Moore Square near Rum Runners.
