New Roast Grill record: 19 dogs in 53 minutes

Bookmark and Share

Eric Bridenstine, 26, of Raleigh is the new Roast Grill record holder having eating 19 hot dogs in 53 minutes this afternoon. Asked how he was feeling, he said, "I've felt better."

Bridenstine's day job is as a producer for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Wolfpack at the RBC Center. He says he was questioning the decision to undertake the challenge after hot dog #2. But he had a lot of support from his 7 or so buddies cheering him on today.

Bridenstine decided to take on the challenge after seeing a recent episode of Man v. Food where star Adam Richman ate 17 Roast Grill hot dogs in one hour.

That record didn't last long when the previous record holder returned to North Carolina to take back the record. Here is the story I wrote about that event.

How long will this record last?

Eric is just on hot dog #6 or #7 in this photo. Can't you tell? He's still smiling.

adverse effect...

Eating contest is fun. But if you try to look deeper into it, it creates an adverse effect on the participants because their digestive system tend to work overtime. Just imagine the bulk food consumed in just an hour or less.
