Mark your calenders: there's two upcoming food truck events.

The Food Truck King event will be 5-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in Raleigh's City Plaza. The event will feature live music, circus performers and fire dancers, as well as more than a dozen food trucks. The trucks include Bulkogi Taco Truck, Chirba Chirba, Farmhand Foods, Klausie's Pizza, Localmotive, Only Burger, Parlez-Vous Crepe, Slippin Sliders, Valentino's and Will & Pop's.

The event is free but you have to get a ticket online. They are also offering a $25 tasting ticket, which guarantees you food from every truck plus two beers. Proceeds from the event benefit Meals on Wheels of Wake County.

The next food truck rodeo in Durham will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at Durham Central Park. This will be the biggest food truck rodeo so far in Durham with 25 trucks.

Brian Bottger, owner of the Only Burger truck, said he knows the last food truck rodeo was not fun for everyone: there were so many people that lines merged into each other and a few newer trucks ran out of food. So this time, Bottger says they will close down Foster Street so the food trucks can spread out, they added an extra hour and the trucks will be more prepared to handle the crowds.

Bottger promised to send a list of trucks next week. I'll post it as soon as I have it.
