Johnny's of Carrboro has closed but will reopen under a new name

Bookmark and Share

I got a call this morning (Monday, June 26) from Brian Plaster's fiancee, Courtney Buley. So let me take another stab at this blog post today.

Johnny's of Carrboro at 901 W. Main Street has closed. Owners Jan Halle and Brian Plaster, have parted ways. Plaster owns the business name and therefore Halle, who plans to renovate the space and reopen, will have to find a new name for her business at that location. Halle, who said she owns the building, said last week that she hoped to reopen in about 10 days.

During the renovation, food trucks will continue to gather in the Johnny's parking lot, including Parlez-Vous Crepes.

Meanwhile, Plaster has bought the Frosty's Trading Post business at 2143 Jones Ferry Road in Pittsboro and is operating a similar concept in the old country store. Buley says it is more grab-and-go than Johnny's was but they offer local eggs and milk like at Johnny's.

Latin Grill

The Latin Grill was rocking at Johnnys last night. As I was taking away, I didn't notice they were closed. I hope everyone will support Jan as she goes forward.

sleuthing!

Andrea thanks so much for tracking down the details!
