Elaine's on Franklin is hosting winemaker Jean-Luc Colombo of the Jean-Luc Colombo Winery of the Rhone Valley in France next Thursday evening.

The four-course dinner with appetizers and four wine pairings begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 27. The courses include Maine lobster with Brinkley Farm cream peas, arugula, fried green tomatoes, corn relish and a green tomato beurre blanc paired with a 2007 Jean-Luc Colombo La Redonne Cotes du Rhone blanc.  The cost is $75 per person. Call 960-2770 to make a reservation.

If that's too steep for your wallet these days, Elaine's is also offering a $35 three-course, pre-theater tasting menu all night long, every night they are open. You get a choice of one of five appetizers, one of four entrees and one of three desserts.
