Durham's Favor Desserts Bakery has grand opening Saturday

Bookmark and Share

Favor Desserts Bakery and Coffee Shop is celebrating its grand opening from noon-7 p.m. Saturday.

The bakery is the work of Keijuane Hester, who hopes to be an inspiration to other former convicts that there is life and work after prison. Hester was released from federal prison in 1999 after he says he served time on drug charges. He’s spent the last decade building his baking business. (The Durham News printed a longer story HERE.)

Saturday’s celebration will include coffee and cake tastings, live music by a jazz/neo soul band, children’s activities and giveaways. The bakery is at 5607 N.C. 55, Suite 105, in the Bentley Ridge shopping center.
