Bookmark and Share

The deadline nears for The Eno River Farmers Market's Slaws, Salads and Sides recipe contest on June 19, the same day as Hillsborough Hog Days.

You have until Saturday, June 12 to enter.

So if you think you make the BEST slaw, salad or side, you should bring at least four quarts of a homemade cold vegetable side dish to downtown Hillsborough's Public Market House between 8-10 a.m. June 19.

The cost to enter is $6 but contestants receive $4 in Eno River Farmers Market coupons with their entry.

The public can enjoy all the entries by paying $4 for four samples, or pay more to taste more. Folks will choose the People's Choice Award and a panel of judges will select first and second place winners, as well as a "Best Use of Local Ingredients" winner.
