Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours are offering an array of holiday tours and special events to close out 2011. Advance registration is required for all events.
Walking food tours are available every Saturday through Dec. 17 and by appointment on weekdays in downtown Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill/Carrboro, Hillsborough, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Special Friday tours will take place in Raleigh, Durham and Greensboro on Dec. 23 and 29. Food tours are $41 plus an online registration fee. Walking tours cover two to three miles.
Taste Carolina and Art Gallery Tours NC are hosting afternoons of food and culture Nov. 19 and Dec. 17. Participants will enjoy tastings at four eateries in Raleigh's Mordecai neighborhood -- 18 Seaboard, Market Restaurant, Escazu Chocolates and Piebird -- and will tour Gallery C and Nicole's Art Gallery & Studio. The tours begin at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $40 plus an online registration fee.
Also on tap: A December tour series, Eat & Shop Local. Tours are scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 14 in Raleigh; 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15 in Durham; 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in Greensboro; 11 a.m. Dec. 17 in Hillsborough; 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19 in Carrboro; and 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20 in Winston-Salem. Cost is $30 plus an online registration fee.
