All I can say is wow!

We had a great turnout last night for the Triangle Foodie Tweetup at Fearrington's new beer garden called The Roost. I still haven't quite recovered from all the good food and wine, followed by dinner at Jujube in Chapel Hill for Triangle Restaurant Week.

I wanted to thank my co-hosts: the folks at Fearrington, @FearringtonNC; Johanna Kramer, @durhamfoodie; the Indy's Food editor Amber Nimock, @ambernim; N&O's Sunday Dinner columnist Debbie Moose, @debbiemoose. We missed N&O's Weekend Gourmet columnist Fred Thompson but we love Belinda Ellis, his partner-in-crime over at Edible Piedmont, so we're happy she got to join us.

It was so nice to finally meet the folks behind their twitter screen names. I was so happy to meet @yancyscot @TheMasalaWala @joekwon80, the couple behind @RDUGonnaEat, the ladies behind @gwgdurham,
@gaggingtowards @jeffreylcohen, @markpetko, @thegourmez, @nutellaisevil, @greeneatsblog, @tubafrenzy and more. I'm sure I'm missing some folks so please forgive me.

I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet @TheEcofoodie and the others.

I think Fearrington's Executive Chef Colin Bedford and his staff did an excellent job with all the food. As @yancyscot said, "This was the best food at a tweetup ever!" I can't stop thinking about that shortrib wrapped in bacon!

I need to actually write some stories for the paper so I'll choose winners of those six cookbooks you saw last night tomorrow when I get back in the office.

Thanks to all who came out! We'll have to start pondering where and when to have another foodie tweetup...
