Michelle Obama's White House dress

Bookmark and Share

As I said last week, I looooove Michelle Obama in a Maria Pinto dress.

And that's what she wore for her White House visit Monday. She's wearing a red silk crepe sheath with a pleated neckline that was created by the Chicago designer. (And check out Laura Bush with what's becoming a Michelle Obama signature — a pin!)

What do you think? Did Michelle hit the right tone with the dress?

UPDATE: Apparently the dress is wool, not silk. And it's a bright coral, not red. WWD scored an interview with Pinto Monday, who said Michelle bought the dress a while ago. Read the article here.

I give Michele props for wearing an American designer. I bet that bush woman never cared about finding American designers. Michele looks great, however that dress makes her thighs look big.

As usual, Michelle looks amazing

I love, love, love this dress. It's classic and chic, and fits her body perfectly. It's the perfect look for a stylish first lady.

I also kind of like Laura's dress here. It's very retro, and Mad Men-ish. She looks lovely too.

@demfem & @truetom: I LOVED her election night dress. I thought it was a classic cut with a trendy flare. Very pretty and perfect for such an exciting, celebratory night.

@colesdad: Hey, now! Don't hate on the short torso folks! I happen to be one myself! We make up for it with long legs.

Not nipples, pleats!

Those aren't nipples, they're the pleats/tucks in the dress. They just happen to end there.

JEEZ.

michelle obama's red dress at the white house

It is definitely a better choice than the "lava lam" dress that she wore when he won the election. However, next time I would recommend her checking her underwear - her nipples are showing! Am I the only one that can see them? They are visible even through the picture - imagine if face to face!

If she wants to pretend to be like Jacqueline Kennedy, then show a little bit more style - from now on, everything that you wear will be scrutinize closely

It's definitely you, truetome.

Her headlights aren't on--those are the pleats in the front of the dress.

love it

Love that one. It's very slimming too. She and Barack make Laura and George look kinda frumpy.

That woman has the shortest

That woman has the shortest torso I've ever seen.

Michelle Obama's White House Dress

Michelle has redeemed herself for the questionable election night pick. This is positively stunning!! Now that the election is over, our soon to be First Lady can allow herself to return to her high style elegance and excellent fashion choices without fearing a backlash against her husband from those who think they are elitist.

Brava, brava!!!
