Restaurant serving Long Island roast duck?

I've gotten an e-mail from a reader who moved to Raleigh from Long Island and would like to know if there's a restaurant in the Triangle that serves Long Island roast duck (half a duck with orange or dark cherry sauce).

I'm afraid that one has got me stumped. Anyone out there know where a homesick Long Islander can score some roast duck?

roast duck

You can find chinese style roast duck at grand asia market in Cary off of Buck Jones rd. Exactle like they have in nyc chinatown markets

Thanks for setting 'em

Thanks for setting 'em straight, anonymous. You're right - my quality of life has really diminished with foreigners and yankees bringing their food here. It was so much better when all you could get was chicken fried steak.

LOL

I've lived in NC most of my life and most of the people I know are what you would call transplanted yankees, no need to be unfriendly at least they are tax paying Americans. As far as the roast duck goes, I've been to only one or two restaurants that serve uncommon dishes like duck, goose, rabbit, venison etc. I do know that you can get duck in the frozen foods section at Walmart so if they can get the recipe for the sauce I'm sure they can make their own.

Homesick Long Islander

Tell the "homesick Long Islander" to go back home to Long Island and stay, eating all the duck he/she wants. Tell this person to take other Neo Carpetbaggers with him/her. If it is so good "up North", then what are they doing down here? We do not want them, period! They bring with them the very things they are moving here to escape. As a result, our quality of life here is diminished.

Wow! That's a totally inappropriate response...

It's amazing what people will say under the cover of

anonymity.

Wow, someone is a little

Wow, someone is a little bitter!

I'm glad you quit kissing your sister long enough to type that, Johnny Rebel!  You're the reason they should never run the internet into trailer parks.

Back to your NASCAR and watery BBQ!
