Thanks for the tip,

Thanks for the tip, caresteen. I've added Fearrington House and The Old Granary to the list.

Fearrington has Easter Brunch

Fearrington Village is offering Easter brunch at the Old Granary Restaurant at a la carte prices, and also a 4 course Easter lunch at the Fearrington House at $65 per person (menus available on the website: www.fearrington.com). Fearrington's deli-style restaurant, the Belted Goat, will also be open for those just looking for a sandwich, a coffee or glass of wine, or a scoop of Maple View Farms ice cream.

Phil Campbell used to offer

Phil Campbell used to offer shad roe every spring at Flying Burrito, but I doubt they're still doing it since he sold the restaurant. The only place I've seen shad roe on the menu this year is Four Square (www.foursquarerestaurant) in Durham. Owner/chef Shane Ingram is offering it as an appetizer on his April menu, wrapped in prosciutto and served with roasted banana, cornmeal spaetzle and verjus. Not what you're looking for, I know, but if you call ahead, maybe he'll do a simpler version for you. Otherwise, you may check out Fishmonger's.

shad roe?

Anyone know of any restaurants doing old-style shad roe?

I always want it around Easter, but not cooked up fancy or anything....
