Eastern Wake Buzz

Change has become a constant in our world these days. All over the eastern Wake County region the landscape is changing. But one thing remains the same. We still share a strong common interest in what’s happening in our community. The Eastern Wake News blog -- now called the Eastern Wake Buzz -- is the place to go to learn about the changes taking place in our part of the world and to share your thoughts on the news of the day. Regular entries are posted by news staffers Brian High, Aaron Moody, Denise Sherman and Johnny Whitfield. We’d love to share the latest buzz with you. We can’t wait to read your comments and insights.

One of the most enjoyable evenings of the year is just around the corner.

Stars in the East is a production of the East Wake Education Foundation. The night includes dinner and a show, or if you don't want to plunk down the money for dinner, you can come later for the show.

Typically a sellout, the show features singing, music and dance by students from across eastern Wake County. High school and middle school students will perform alongside elementary schoolers.

And if you think for a second that the elementary school children can't hold their own with their older counterparts, you should attend just to see how wrong that assumption is.

The event is, of course, a fundraiser for the East Wake Education Foundation. The organization has always operated on a shoestring budget and with a recessed economy, donations have been harder to come by.

So buy your significant other a night out on the town on April 8. Enjoy a good dinner and a remarkable show.
