Senior Bob Harris took on Blake Collins from Cape Fear High School (this year's Two Rivers champion). Harris won the first set 7-5, lost the second 5-7 and lost third 3-6.

Kalen Bryant faced Jackson Morton from Ashley High School (Wilmington). He, like Harris, won the first set 6-4, and lost the next two 3-6, 4-6. Morton ended up taking third place in the region.

Doubles:
Matt Roebuck and Jake Whitley won their first doubles match over Danny Wiegand and Alex Carr from Holly Springs — losing the first set 5-7, and winning the second and third 6-2, 7-5. The Golden Hawk pair was the three seed in the Greater Neuse Conference tourney.

The pair of Warriors then played Ryan Noble and Andrew Bock from Terry Sanford and lost 6-0, 6-0. The duo from Terry Sanford the No. 1 seeded pair in the region and it went on to win the regional.

Gay said he couldn't have been more pleased then he was with his players in regionals, but his team on the year as well. Last year the team finished with a 3-11 record. This year it closed out 11-6.
