Former Duke offensive lineman Kyle Hill has signed a free agent contract with the New England Patriots, the school announced Wednesday. Hill, a 2011 graduate, started 46 games (and played a total of 3,326 snaps) for the Blue Devils as both a left guard and left tackle.
With Hill, there are now eight former Duke players currently on an NFL roster: LS Patrick Mannelly (Bears), WR Eron Riley (Jets), LB Vincent Rey (Bengals), QB Thaddeus Lewis (Browns), LB Patrick Bailey (Titans), TE Cooper Helfet (Seahawks) and S Matt Daniels (Rams). A fun fact about Mannelly, a 15-year veteran: he holds Chicago's franchise record for career games played.
