For the second time in three years, Duke women's basketball coach Joanne McCallie has been selected the ACC Coach of the Year.
The fifth-year Blue Devils coach has guided Duke to its third straight ACC regular-season title and a 24-4 overall record this season. In the ACC's preseason poll, Duke was picked to finish second after losing three seniors to graduation and the WNBA.
The youngest team ever coached by McCallie, No. 5 Duke is relying on a roster featuring nine freshmen and sophomores. Following injuries to Richa Jackson and Amber Henson and the loss of starter Chloe Wells due to a violation of university policy, Duke is down to eight scholarship players
The Blue Devils will face the winner of today's N.C. State-Florida State game at 3 p.m. tomorrow in an ACC tournament quarterfinal in Greensboro.
