In case this is your first time reading The Dollar Diet blog, my family and I are on a quest to go the entire month of February without spending any money. No kidding. We'll pay the monthly bills, put gas in our cars to get to and from work and spend just $10 a week on milk and produce, but that's it. If it's discretionary, it's off limits. Click here to read the introductory post.)
It's less than four hours until kickoff and preparations for our Super Bowl XLV "party" have begun.
(Just because we're not spending any money this month doesn't mean we won't be having fun.)
My homemade vegetarian chili is percolating in the crock pot and my 12-year-old daughter just put a chocolate cake in the oven.
She's got big plans to go wild with a tube of red icing she found in the pantry.
No pizza and wings take-out on our frugal menu!
During the game, I'll be sipping a glass of wine, watching the commercials and keeping a look-out for any wardrobe malfunctions or other surprises during half-time.
Mr. Dollar Diet will have a Yuengling (or two) and root for the Packers.
Simple food made from my pantry stash, good company and great football (we hope).
It won't be fancy. But it should be fun, in our frugal sort of way.
