Celebrating - and paying for it!

Bookmark and Share

Alan Foster writes: Why do most significant events and celebrations involve food? Over this past week, we enjoyed a birthday dinner party for a family friend, some great Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo, we had a few meals out and a dinner party for my daughter’s college graduation, and of course, there was Mother’s Day. I try to be conscious of my food choices and amounts but when there’s so much good food around and everyone else is enjoying it, I don’t want to think about diets, calories, portions, or weight.

But then, there’s always Monday morning when everything is over and the left overs are gone. I stepped back on the scales and found 2 of the 12 pounds I’ve worked so hard to lose. But I’m OK with that! I had a great week with family and friends. We enjoyed the celebrations and we definitely enjoyed some good food. Tomorrow, I’m back in the gym.
