Can we change the station?

Three years, nothing has changed.

Unless you love thrash metal or hair bands, in which case you're thrilled at the music at the RBC Center. Can't we bring back Superchunk? Worked in '06.

(Props to the music crew for bringing "The Rising" back to the rotation, but wouldn't it make more sense to play it while the team is on the ice?)

I know, I know, no one hates the music played during Canes games as much as I do. But when you've been places where they do it really well — Dallas comes to mind — you know it can be so much better.

Music at the RBC Center

It's high time they discovered "Loving a Hurricane" by John Hiatt. It would be a new crowd favorite in no time.

No trained Monkey here

I don't know anyone in CanesVision. I'm a STH and happen to travel enough to see other shows. You should as well.

Why does Luke suck? Let me count the ways.

Joe Corvo scores a hat trick and the headline reads Uh-Oh Joe stings old team. Really? We have to call him uh-oh Joe for his first NHL hat trick?

Honestly, i can sit here and lay negative story after negative story down for you, but I won't. If you like his stuff fine to me he is a lazy writer who takes the easy way out.

My point is that all these newspaper articles are talking about how great the atmosphere at the RBC Center is and our own home town writer has to go Bob ryan and try to say that it's not as good as everyone is saying.

I'm not saying the guys at the RBC Center are the reason for the atmosphere but personally I enjoy the music and entertainment and think that it helps provide that awesome atmosphere.

That's my opinion! And i still think Luke Sucks. I only responded to this because my friend sent me the link because he knows I cannot stand Luke's half empty view of everything.

No Negative Mojo

You know, you maybe able to tell by my name how I feel about Mr. Luke S. DeCock, but he never ceases to amaze me in his desire to find the black lining in every cloud.

Sir, music is a matter of taste just like writing. I can just as easily say to you I have read tons of other hockey writers and they do it so much better in other cities.

As a Caniac I immensely enjoy the entertainment at the RBC Center. Sure there are things that get old sometime but I have been to many different arenas and have not seen a show equal to what we get in our own backyard. Most other shows I have seen have not even half of the offerings as the RBC Center.

I really wish you Mr. DeCock would stop taking the easy way of writing to the masses. It's so much easier to sit and criticize then to say something positive. No one in Raleigh doubts your credibility so you don't have to go out of your way to prove you don't have a team bias.

For me, I say MORE COWBELL and I LOVE ROCK AND ROLL all the way to the Cup Finals.

PS. The Rising is more about us fans now then the team

Yea change the station

Hey Lukesucks (why does he suck he's supporting the rest of us that agree)

what are you? one of the canesvision trained monkeys that's why you have such discored for someone not liking whats played?!?!?  having to listen to the same stuff over and over and over could be considered torture in some cultures.  We need something new listen to.

Change the music

For that matter can we stop showing the same tired videos after the other team scores, please. They are supremely annoying and they are all of big time losers taking bad news very badly. They do not show defiance, they show futility. I especially detest the Steve Carrell shot from "The Office" where he says "No, PLEASE GOD NOOOOO {replay}OOOOOO".

I don't detest Steve Carrell or the Office, just that scene replayed ad nauseum.

Oh and, ichigo, yes you can go wrong with metal.

Thank You Luke!!

I've been saying the same thing for the last couple of years. Like atrione said, when they find something, they beat it to death. Thank goodness they finally stopped playing "Hard to Handle" by the Black Crowes. My wife screams every time she hears "I Love Rock & Roll". Every now and then the NHL Network will show Canes home games from the 2006 playoff run and you can hear the same songs that are still being played today! And, like wufpirate7, I can always count on hearing that The Used song after the visiting team scores their first goal. Enough is enough!!

Another problem is that when

Another problem is that when they find something, they beat it to death. Did we need to hear "Show me the money" a million times after game 7 of the Finals? Did that have anything to do with anything that happened during or after the game other than having Cuba Gooding, Jr. in the building? And now it's the cowbell. It was OK the first few times, but good God, enough is enough.

I've been screaming for

I've been screaming for years to kill the song that is played after the opponent scores. It's by The Used - you know the one - with the whiney lyrics "I'll beeee just fine, pretending I'm not". I cringe at even reading those lines. And it's been getting ragged out for several seasons straight!

Would it kill them to play something new from time to time? Apparently so.

@music

I don't mind bringing back the superchunk, if anything has to go though its cotton eye joe. That song haunts me in my sleep. You can't go wrong with metal btw.
