The city of Raleigh will host a public meeting Thursday, June 24, to discuss an $8.6 million plan for widening a 1.4-mile section of Buck Jones Road with sidewalks and bike lanes.
The meeting is planned for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at All Saints Antiochian Orthodox Church, 520 Buck Jones Road.
The city realigned the northern end of Buck Jones Road 10 years ago, closing its intersection with Western Boulevard and diverting Buck Jones to a new intersection with Jones Franklin Road, just south of Western Boulevard.
The new plan for improving the two-lane road would add a center turn lane from Xebec Way to Farm Gate Road, with sidewalks, striped bike lanes and streetlights, to be finished by the end of 2013. For more information contact the project manager, Cordis Thompson, at 996-3030 or email@example.com .
