Thanks to everyone who offered up their best money-saving ideas in my giveaway for a $10 gift card to Target.
If you haven't taken the time to read through the tips, I highly recommend doing so. You just might find an idea worth a few bucks, if not hundreds, in savings.
Some of my favorites:
**"I love that I can utilize Consumer Reports for free through the Wake County Public Library. With the helpful access information provided to me by the librarian, I can go online and browse from my home computer for FREE! I used this tonight to research purchasing a dishwasher."
**"Plan your trips hitting the right-hand stops first, then circle around. You spend more time and gas waiting for the left hand turn lane."
**Before buying, "ask yourself want or need? Be honest."
**Take empty glass jars to Whole Foods for bulk shopping. "If you weigh them at the beginning empty, they will give you a tare for them, and then you can do your bulk shopping without using any bags. Shopping in bulk saves you money and using your own jars is eco-friendly."
OK. Now on to the winner:
It's MebaneCheapie.
If that's you, please look for an email from me shortly or go ahead and contact me at adunn@newsobserver.com.
As soon as I get your full name and address, I'll get the gift card in the mail to you.
