UPDATED: Harris Teeter Triples deals list for the Triangle

Bookmark and Share

NOTE: This is the latest and greatest list of Triples deals, updated to include sales in today's circular! The sale begins at 7 this morning and runs through Tuesday, Sept. 20.

There are at least 13 FREEBIES and 15 more grocery bargains to be had for 25 cents or less during Harris Teeter's Triple Coupon Promotion this week. The freebies include everything from dish liquid to tofu. And for a quarter or less, you can stock your pantry with rice, candy, cake mixes, frosting, even lunch meat!

My list is specifically tailored to Triangle shoppers, using Triangle store prices and coupons readily available here, either through newspaper inserts, magazines or Internet printing.

One last thing: Please remember to follow Harris Teeter's coupon policy: You may triple up to 20 coupons per day. No more than three identical coupons. No more than two identical Internet coupons. Coupons with a face value of up to 99 cents will triple, which means a 75-cent coupon is worth $2.25. A $1.25 coupon is still worth $1.25.

Haribo Candy

The $0.30/1 Haribo coupon is back online and available.  I just printed it off.

Another deal...

I just found a coupon on coupons.com for $0.75 off 1 Hormel Compleats.  So, that would make one of these free!

Great find! My son in

Great find! My son in college loves these.

Looking for a coupon

Has anyone seen a coupon out there for the Nabisco Newtons Fruit Thins.  I got the free sample at CVS this week and tried them.  They are delicious and I wanted a coupon.

Thanks!

I've never seen a coupon

I've never seen a coupon specifically for the Fruit Thins, but I have seen coupons here & there for Nabisco cookies or crackers.  I don't think there are any current ones out there from our papers right now.

Stopped by today...

And got (among other things) 6 cups of Yoplait Greek yogurt & 2 packs of the Yoplait parfaits for $2 total!  That is a GREAT deal for yogurt!!!  I also got the tofu.  I've never used it before, but it will be an interesting experiment to work with it.  I didn't really find any other deals than were posted above.  I used 16 coupons, and spent less than $12 on items.  I made a point to read labels and not just pick up items because they were inexpensive.  You can get healthier items & get deals through these sales.  Thanks for compiling the list!!

Nice deals, Claire! I, too,

Nice deals, Claire! I, too, am enjoying the nearly free yogurt. If you haven't already, be sure to load the digital coupon for the Yoplait Greek so save even more.

So, I am unclear on how the

So, I am unclear on how the digital coupons work in these promos.  Do they double & triple?  I think (I'm not entirely sure) that Kroger does not double digital coupons that are loaded onto their cards.

Which digital coupon are you referring to (is it on the Harris Teeter e-coupons, or through UPromise or something else?).  Thanks!

I was talking about the HT

I was talking about the HT digital or e-coupons that you can link to directly from the emails HT sends you. They won't multiply (no digitals will) but they stack with the paper coupons. Each one is only good for for one use but it's a nice bonus!

Using the Yoplait Greek yogurt as an example:

$1 per cup.

Buy 2 = $2

- .50/2 paper manufacturer's coupon (tripled) = 50 cents or 25 cents per cup

- .50/2 Harris Teeter digital coupon = both FREE! (one time usage, of course)

Hope that helps!

WOW...I did not know that.

WOW...I did not know that.  I can't register my card with the program right now; it says my info doesn't match up...  Maybe I'll stop by the HT service desk.

This is in direct contrast with Kroger.  Kroger stopped allowing use of both paper & digital coupons on the same item a few months ago.  So, I actually don't jump at the chance to load digital Kroger coupons; since any digitally-loaded coupons are automatically deducted, if there is just a $0.50 coupon I know that if I find a paper coupon it will double and give me a better deal.

You're right on about

You're right on about Kroger's digital couopns. They are rarely worth the effort. Harris Teeter's, on the other hand, are kingpin!

I noticed the internet

I noticed the internet printable for Green Giant (.80 cents off 4) only covered the price of 1. So instead of tripling to $1.60 the multiplied amount was only .45 (cost of one is $1.25). Anybody else notice inconsistencies with their tripling amounts?

Same thing happened to me on GG vegetables

After I noticed this on my GG vegetables purchase, I emailed HT about it to complain, but I imagine this is on purpose.  Target had been doing the same thing, but they may have stopped after getting some bad press. At Target, if a coupon was for, say, 1.00/3, and the items cost .88 each, then the coupon would come off as .88.  I don't know if that's still the case there.

I have had that happen

I have had that happen before on coupons that were off multiple products, but only at HT. I think it is a glitch in their system.

First timer!

I went to my first HT Triples today and spent $25 on $80 worth of items! Pretty darn proud of myself as a new couponer. :D Thank you for the lists...they really help!

I do have one question though...where is the coupon found for this...

"Betty Crocker cake mixes: 99 cents and Betty Crocker frostings: $1.66.
Buy 1 of each: $2.65 - .75/2 coupon = 20 cents each"
!

That's a great total for a

That's a great total for a newbie! Congrats!

The Betty Crocker cake mix/frosting coupon was in the 8/7 General Mills insert and is good through 10/1.

Anytime you are wondering about a coupon, check out my coupon database on the right side of the blog. It lists every single coupon we get in the coupon inserts in Sunday's N&O so it's a great resource when you're deal matching and can't find a coupon.

CAUTION on the Box Tops deal!

Read the fine print! on the Box Tops deal. The huge spread in today's HT ad was a little misleading to me--the items advertised as being on sale do NOT all count for the "buy 8 items, get 50 Box Tops" offer. Had I read a bit closer I would have shopped a little differently.

Will that Barilla coupon really triple?

It's got that double bar code without the other taller bar code -- I was told they don't double or triple.

I had 3 coupons with the new

I had 3 coupons with the new codes.  None would scan.

My cashier was awesome though - she manually entered the coupons and entered the tripled price for them!

Sooo much depends on the cashier and the manager when things do go "right."

So glad to hear you had a

So glad to hear you had a postive experience! I have a feeling those new codes are going to keep couponers guessing.

I had a couple of coupons

I had a couple of coupons with the new bar code and they sailed through. I think it depends on the coupon and how it is coded. That will be a whole new coupon adventure going forward once all the coupons have the new bar code only!

Feelin' pretty good!

First my first triples experience, spent $29.xx after using $49 in coupons...so instead of spending $79...I was able to save about $50 in groceries...and all things we will use!

One error though, I failed to keep up with my coupons and ended up using 22 instead of 20...and I'm still trying to figure out what credit I received...if any for the 2 extra. From what I can tell from my lengthy receipt, at most I may have just gotten the face value of the coupon...no doubling or tripling.  I knew that 20 was my limit, but I didn't do a final check before I made it to the register...sigh.  Note made!

That's a great total,

That's a great total, particularly for a first-timer. So congrats! No worries on your mistake. It's easy to do,  especially under the pressure of Triples!

Awesome Deals!

Made my first HT run this morning and came away spending $1.11 and saved $46.83!!  I still have more coupons to use and deals to get, but I hit my coupon limit for this trip.

For deals where coupon value

For deals where coupon value exceeds purchase price, I advise checking individual store policy before shopping. I learned the hard way that in such cases, HT in Cameron Village does not even double or triple up to the purchase price. It just gives face value of the coupon.

Score!

$70.xx total, 50.69 in coupons.

Add to the list Edge Shaving cream.  2/$5.00, $.75 coupon from the one of the online sites that Amy references in the post = $.25 per can.

Maxed out at 20 coupons and coulda used more.  I think my best coupon outing yet.
