A friendly reminder: Today's your last chance to enter to win. The giveaway will end at midnight tonight when Triples ends. I'll post the winner Wednesday morning.
Here's your chance to tell us how you did at Harris Teeter's Triples event. Go ahead and brag!
Your comment could be worth a $25 Harris Teeter gift card. Just think of the deals you could score with that in your wallet.
I'll choose one winner at random on Wednesday, May 23.
So let's hear it. Tell us how much you saved, how many coupons you used or perhaps a funny story from the aisles or at the cash register.
Did you see a lot of fellow couponers? Or was your store empty?
Or, leave me a question or post a deal you found.
Good luck, everyone.
If you haven't yet hit the aisles, click HERE to see my long list of freebies and super good deals you can score with triple coupons.

Amy,
I am still trying to convince my husband of the benefits (savings!!) of "couponing".
Ahh...Triples
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 20:53 — dblaserAfter being out of the country for 5 1/2 months where they don't have coupons and grocery prices are more expensive, coming back and doing triples really makes one appreciate the value of the set up here. It seems the number of couponers has increased in that time and the empty shelves that are staying empty could be proof. This will probably also mean that I'd better start getting to the store earlier for the handful of items I especially want. Thank you for putting together the deals every week.
I didn't have any stellar
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 18:45 — skunkieI didn't have any stellar triples event but I did manage to snag some of the Dole frozen fruit for free and a few other cheap items including the PFs baked chips. I'm happiest with the money maker on the 2 Yoplait yogurt cups (tripled coupon + eVIC coupon + SavingStar coupon:))
Good luck to everybody with the giveaway!
Teresa

Tue, 05/22/2012 - 17:47 — MEBMEBI finally made it to Teeters today for triples and many items were sold out but I was able to score a great deal on Jolly Time popcorn with coupons I picked up from Weight Watchers. A dear friend tipped me off on the unadvertised sale of buy 2 get 3 free so I stocked up on several boxes of the Healthy Pop. Made my day!
triples
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 16:41 — lynch010Wish mine were a good story. My trips were pretty much a waste of time. Only able to go in the evening, and everything was wiped out!!! Wish I had more luck :(
Wish I could have gotten more
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 16:31 — misty0410Used 30 counpons over 2 trips...hoping to do one more. Hate when I forget a coupon and get the item anyway! urrg!!!!!
HT Triples
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 15:57 — ljb190My one big score was a travel pack of Huggies wipes for $.65. Unfortunately, the Reynolds Wrap was cleaned out since everyone else wanted if for less than $2, too! I have to say thanks for alerting me to the prescription transfer deal HT ran. I switched our prescriptions over, was thrilled with the pharmacy service, and got $120 in groceries, too--thank you!!!
HT Triples
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 15:22 — awdixonI am a full time college student as well as a full time father of a 2 year old, so I really appreciate the ability to rapidly see what deals there are. One of the mottos of my department at school is "Work smart, not hard." Amy makes that a lot easier for me!
triple coupons
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 15:03 — debbie53My favorite deal this week was Miracle Whip. Since the smaller size jar was on sale for $2.50 and the coupon did not specify a size, I bought 3 of the smaller jars and that amounted to only paying about $2.00 for the large jar that is regularly priced at over $5.00 and Miracle Whip is hard to find at that great a deal. Thanks for all you do.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO, AMY!!!
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 14:13 — couponnanaVery happy with savings: free / cheap: Super Pretzels Cinnamon Sweet (19 1/2 cents box of 6 - 3 boxes); Ragu spaghetti sauce (34 cents jar - 2 jars); Mentos - 3; Starbucks ice cream (3 for $10); Heinz ketchup (19 cents); Dole frozen fruit (strawberries and pineapple) deals; hot sauce (Franks, Tabasco; Texas Pete) deals; and Margaret Holmes and Glory beans and succotash. Thanks, again!!!
TRIPLE FUN
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 13:55 — kiddza2864Just posted to the wrong area...
I love Harris Teeter triple coupon fun. I love to see what I can get for free and under a dollar is a good buy. Sometimes it is just nice to get stuff cheaper than shelf price.
Cary Harris Teeters are better stocked than Raleigh (401/Ten Ten) sells out within 4 hours of the sale.
I always shop Harris Teeter...my home is Harris Teeter.
Let's do it again soon!!!!!
Learning the hard way
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 13:49 — MebaneCheapieI'm not a regular HT shopper, as it's farther from my house than Lowe's and Food Lion. Thus, when I arrived ready to save I found that my area HT was pretty much wiped out of all of the items I had clipped to save. Oh well. Maybe I should sign up for the coupon class and set my alarm for next time!
1st day back from vacation I was in HT!
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 12:52 — MaryBethMagallanesI got back from a two-week vacation on Sunday evening and was in HT on Monday -- I got free hot sauce, canned vegetables, sour cream dip, and paid a grand total of @ a dollar for multiples of Lipton tea, pantiliners, and Pepperidge Farm crackers. Ball Park BEEF franks came to approximately .85/lb.
It's so nice to be welcomed back to NC by Amy and HT... :-D
hoping for deals today!
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 11:31 — ambugrl31We just got back from vacation and so I'm finalizing my shopping list now! Last time there were triple coupons, I got $103 of groceries for $33! I'd like to beat my record!
Hi...I bought $45.35 worth
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 11:09 — ShotglassHi...I bought $45.35 worth of groceries at Harris Teeter but after they rang up the sale prices and then deducted the Triple Coupons I had to pay them $4.59 ( then 46 cents tax). I saved the receipt. I bought oatmeal cups, jello, bread buns, toothpaste, hot dogs, and a few other items I will definitely use. I never buy just to say money only things I will use. Three years ago I bought $36 worth of groceries and when they rang everything up they OWED ME 6 cents. They would not give it to me but I thanked them anyway and walked away with free groceries.

I went Weds at 7:30 AM and
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 10:36 — beejay2908I went Weds at 7:30 AM and there were a lot of items out of stock, but went again over the weekend and found some things I could not find Weds, like Jello Temptations and Yoplait Yogurt. I never found the Gold Peak (unsweetened) or Hydro shave gel, but all in all, got some good deals as usual thanks to Amy and H-T!
Round 2 today
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 09:44 — tammy_baldwinI need to go to HT today for round 2. I did my first run on Friday and was suprised to find most of the items still available in the Wakefield store. The hardest part for me is not buying extra stuff since I am saving so much money with my triples.
Add in the $10/$50 coupon I got from Recyclebank and it was a good week for shopping.
Two stores - triples
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 09:16 — layla919Hi, this is the first time i tried this going to two different stores on two separate days for a total of $120 in coupon savings. Lots of the really good deals were out but some of the things out in one store were available in the other one the next day. thanks for the advice.
Hot and Fruity HT Triples!
Tue, 05/22/2012 - 00:08 — belledogI went to HT on Friday morning, thinking that all of the better deals would be gone. I was quite surprised that I found most of what I wanted. I used 15 coupons, and spent $5.05 I got Dole mixed fruit (1), Franks hot sauce (2), Texas Pete hot sauce (1), Dole fruit bites (3), French's mustard (2),Margaret Holmes vegs. (3), Chinet plates (1), Dole single serve frozen fruit (2). I will try to go back on Tuesday to see if I can get a few Sunday triples.
Thanks Amy and everyone else who help by sharing their good finds.
Triples Was very successful
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 22:34 — lorriehas3kidsI did a personal record of 3 trips to HT for triples. I usually don't do it but twice, but deals were good enough to go 2 times! I paid a total of $47.00 and saved $110. Out of the $47.00, I will get $7.00 back in wine and beer rebates! My ogal is always save more than I spend. I couldn't do it without your help! Thanks Amy. Can't wait to meet you in person on June 16!
Looking forward to meeting
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 23:17 — AmyDunn (author)Looking forward to meeting you as well, lorriehas3kids!
I am in Houston Texas but I
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 18:05 — traleighmI am in Houston Texas but I come back to Raleigh next week. I have been in Houston for 2 months and boy have I been missing Triple coupons at Harris Teeter. I having been buying the Sunday Paper out here (its 2.50 out here so-$2 does'nt seem so bad!) and saving the coupons for when I come back so I can get back in on the fun! They do not triple or even double for that matter out here-so Raleigh-we are TRULY blessed that we can save like we save on food and other household items. I have used coupons at Target and Fiesta but not the like the saving I usually see back home. Which leads me to the question: why does Texas not double or triple!! Food here is expensive
An early welcome home,
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 23:12 — AmyDunn (author)An early welcome home, traleighm! And you are so right. We are so fortunate here in the Triangle to have such generous coupon policies!
TRIPLES
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 15:17 — dombekbAmy - Please enter my name/comment into the contest.
Last week, I got about $50 worth of groceries for $5 - this included several free items including Jell-O temptations, Yoplait yogurt w/granola, and Mentos gum.
This sale was pretty good, but I tend to prefer the HT Super Doubles coupon events over the Triples.
Triples
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 12:57 — noonie23Heading out now to Triples. Can't wait to head out with some freebies. Hopefully they are stocked.
Triples
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 11:25 — exit408went back this am for my 3rd trip of the week. wanted to take advantage of Sundays coupons. didn't do as well as I did last week, my oop was $30.10, and I saved $50.35. no freebles today, but still lots of good items. My freezer and pantry is begging me to stop!
Triple coupons
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 10:16 — LindaBarbourI went early Wed morning & was able to snag the last few comet cleansers saving me quite a bit. There were some items that were already out, but saved a lot of money on this trip.
Triples
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 08:09 — bcmunnsWow--Triples has been so much fun this time around and I love that it helps stock on condiments that I was low on and the stores were fully stocked for what I wanted. My first shop I spent 2.13 and saved 39.85. This triples has been one of the best I have seen and now waiting for super doubles because I know it will be awesome!!!!!
Love triples
Mon, 05/21/2012 - 06:36 — gailygooSaved 90 and only spent 12.79. I was pleasantly shocked!
Harris Teeter Triples
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 21:58 — jklfdsSaved $16.22 with this week's triple coupons! When I reached the checkout, I saw a 2 liter Pepsi on the counter with a note: you will receive this free if the cashier doesn't ask you to make a donation to our cause. Well, he didn't mention it, and I said, "Hey, do I get a free Pepsi?" He said, "Yes, take that one." I went ahead and donated $1 to the cause, but I could have gotten the Pepsi free! Look forward to their triples events, and save all my coupons under $1 specifically for this shopping trip. Wish my usual store Kroger would do triples!
HT
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 19:04 — kdhardyI went to HT twice for Triples and did well. One of my favorite deals was 2 boxes of Kleenex for .04 each after using coupons I received with free samples. I also maximixed my savings by using $10.00 with competitor coupons. I love HT!!!
Triples!
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 17:21 — RewardMe34This time I opted not to go for the freebies, but instead to go for the few items we needed most. For example, We stocked up on Carnation Instant Breakfast with a 75cent off coupon that triples to $2.25 off I bought as much as I could in separate trips. We use this to make chocolate milk in the mornings as a much healtier option then syrup.
HT $25 Gift Card
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 16:37 — cpeedinLove the Triple offers. There were pairs of couponers in HT Leesville Saturday !! All taking advantage of ALL the deals. Glad to see I wasn't the only one with the big coupon book laid out in the front part of the basket.
Fuquay store
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 13:11 — FarmhayesUnfortunately if you don't visit this store on wednesday morning, the shelves are wiped clean and not restocked.
HT gift card
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 11:56 — audreyacresAs always, I did well with the triples, but my biggest score was for the free movie ticket that you get for buying $25.00 of coke and Nabisco products. Great deal, especially if you have a few coupons to go along with the deal !!!
Love HT
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 10:19 — dstewartI didn't buy much on my triple exursion to the Apex store but I did get a nice cashier. I goofed on a coupon that said you had to buy (2). He offered quickly to remove the single item from my purchase. The item just wasn't good enough to get (2), so it was an easy decision.
Triples Haul
Sun, 05/20/2012 - 10:09 — cjkoethcI did well with Barilla microwave meals, Barilla plus pasta, and Jello. I'll be back today!
HT Triples!
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 23:07 — msamydeeI made 2 trips, one around 8am Wednesday and another at 6am on Saturday. I find the shelves get restocked pretty well for the weekend shoppers, but I must shop early on Saturdays before it gets CRAZY!!
Only a few things were out of stock on Wednesday, with the only the Grande tortilla chips still out of stock on Saturday. All together I got $147.13 worth of groceries for $48.50, saving 67%. I did better on Thursday (76%) than Saturday (61%) due to weekend specials that didn't all have triple coupons!
Thank you Amy for all your hard work and research!
$25.oo Harris Teeter card
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 18:42 — gayle56So far, I have used 53 coupons. Great triples.

Triples
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 14:28 — jeanett26I spent roughly $6 and saved roughly $42. $4 was on toilet paper, so I felt I did well overall. Cheap/free yogurt, dips, and chips--perfect for lunches and summer picnics. Yeah for Harris Teeter!
Didn't go.
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 13:04 — joulegirl79I was on vacation and didn't go this time around. But I love reading how everyone else did on savings!
Nicole
thank you Amy as always
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 09:58 — mothar1I've been twice and will probably go back on Sunday
First time spent 14.02 saved 51.70 - got dijon mustard, lots of yogurt, Dole frozen fruit, Ortega fajitas and seasoning packets, Hydro shave gel, Johnsonville breakfast sausage, Jello mousse (60 chocolate calories!), International Delight, and my favorite thing I got thanks to Amy's list was the Tyson chicken nuggets
Last night spent 16.04 and saved 47.93, got a few things I didn't have coupons for, like the Rosina meatballs. I did pick up the honey mustard dipping sauce to have with the nuggets and it was really good. I got Heluva good dip(2), Cracker Barrel cheese slices, International Delight, more Dole frozen fruit, Zatarians frozen entrees, the Organic spring mix that Amy told us about, Hungry Jack pancake mix, Special K bars, Barilla Plus pasta(2), free Gold Peak Tea, and the Pepperidge Farm baked natural cheddar crackers.
I can't find the Grande tortilla chips, was hoping to get the coupon on that package for ground beef but other then that everything I was looking for was in stock. Love it :)
Triple coupons
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 09:47 — sweetpotatogirlI got there at 6:30 am Wed. and saw lots of other couponers but got everything I wanted with my 20 coupons. I got $52.00 of groceries for $10.58.
Love Triple Coupons
Sat, 05/19/2012 - 09:06 — ggadamsI will not be able to shop this time but I did help my 20 year old college student get her coupons together. This was her first time shopping alone. She got $ 33.00 worth of stuff for $ .69. She is hooked on Harris Teether triples. I'm so proud of her.
Success with Walgreens Catalinas
Fri, 05/18/2012 - 22:22 — lorriehas3kidsMy biggest surprise came when I used 5 Walgreens $0.99 catalinas that I got from buying the Starbucks Refreshers. Each one of those catalinas tripled much to my surprise. I have 4 more 0.50 that will triple also when I go back for round 2.
Love me some HT! We've
Fri, 05/18/2012 - 21:50 — littanybreighLove me some HT! We've gotten over $150 worth of groceries for less than $10. We count our lucky starts for HT Super Doubles and Triples!
Our savings
Fri, 05/18/2012 - 17:37 — bugnettingIt's not the crazy savings that other folks have been reporting, but we went to the Chapel Hill (Airport Rd) Harris Teeter on Wednesday evening. We saved about 50% of what the bill would have been, and only purchased food and household items that we normally would have. We're kinda picky :-)
Harris Teeter Tripling gift card comment
Fri, 05/18/2012 - 15:44 — blue15blueIt is definitely not a great idea to go tripling at the end of the week. I did nab a couple of free items with the triple coupons -- Mentos gum and the Dole single serve frozen blueberries. (Surely hope I got this comment in the right place--had a little difficulty) :)
RESTOCK?
Fri, 05/18/2012 - 15:42 — hayesc1I read an earlier post that mentioned they don't go early on the day of Triples because it's usually restocked soon after. I've been yesterday and today & still no luck, everything is still picked over which i have found in the past to be the problem. Does anyone know when they restock the the things that get picked over first day?? Has there been a pattern in the past. I live in Clayton so it's hard to just run to Raleigh and check but luckily my husband works in Raleigh and has been keeping an eye out for me.
