Sunday deals are up! (Aug. 28 - Sept. 3)

Bookmark and Share

We're on a roll with freebies at the drugstores and this week is no exception with free aspirin at CVS, free power toothbrushes and deodorant at Rite Aid and free Carmex lip balm and toothpaste at Walgreens. In a few instances, you can even make money shopping this week.

There's also 24-cent Dawn dish liquid at CVS, Nivea Woman's body wash and Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief toothpaste for 49 cents at Rite Aid, and a steal of deal on M&Ms at Walgreens.

But my absolute favorite deal of the week is at Target, where you can get four boxes of Kellogg's Nutri-Grain bars for 88 cents each with the help of Target and manufacturer's coupons. That's a serious stock-up price for a great lunchbox item.

Read on for all the details on that deal and a store-by-store breakdown of all the best Sunday deals.

At CVS:

St. Joseph's aspirin (36 count): $2 - $2 Extra Bucks - $1/1 coupon (August All You magazine) = FREE, plus a $1 moneymaker!

Buy any Conair hair appliance, get $5 Extra Bucks. These range in price from $9.49 up to $44.99. After Extra Bucks, the $9.49 curling iron would be $4.49, a very good deal if you're in the market for one.

Target Morningside Coupon

Where is this coupon? I went through 11 pages of coupons on the Target site, and never saw one for MorningStar Farms veggie products: $2.99. Buy 2 - $1/2 Target printable coupon - two .75/1 coupons (8/28 Red Plum) = $3.50 for 2!

Also is the All You magazine a subscription magazine or available free somewhere?

Thanks!

I printed my Target coupons

I printed my Target coupons Friday but just checked now and you are (sadly) correct. They have been removed from the coupon offerings.

As for "All You" magazine, it is for sale at Walmart only or by subscription. You can get it very cheap through the magazine sales that a lot of the schoolkids to this time of year.

Kroger coupons

Yes, I have had the same issue at Kroger stores.  It was especially irritating when the paper coupon I had had a greater value than the digital one.  One cashier did tell me that if you DO have a digital coupon for an item, they have to scan the paper coupon before they scan your Kroger card, THEN and only then will the coupons stack.  Anyone have any experience with this method?

Also, I have noticed that Harris Teeter DOES NOT accept coupons for discount items (aka stuff that has the yellow markdown sticker on it).  That even applies to items that have manufacturer's coupon peelies directly on the item.

maybe it depends on the store?

I haven't found that to be the case at the HT I shop in.

Kroger Digital Coupons

I've been told by Kroger cashiers that they will not let you combine printed coupons with their digital coupons.  Have you found this to be the case?

As far as I know Harris

As far as I know Harris Teeter is the only store that officially accepts both paper and digital coupons on the same item. However, I have inadvertently used both paper and digital coupons (forgetting what digitals I have loaded) at both Kroger and Lowes Foods and the paper coupons have gone through. I'm guessing it is a glitch in the software that the companies haven't bothered to fix since the digital coupon is only good for once usage.

That being said, it's always best (and my personal view) to follow store policy as best you can but not beat yourself up when mistakes happen.
