It's a big week for couponers -- with competing coupon events at Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter -- so we thought we should celebrate with a giveaway.
I'll be giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky reader. And the winner will get to choose whether the card is to Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods.
So don't be shy. Post your Super Doubles stories in the comments section below.
Did you go to both Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods? Or did you pick one store over the other?
How many coupons did you use? How much did you spend? How much did you save?
Share your totals, any unadvertised deals you uncovered or even a funny story that happened at the register.
Got a gripe? You can share that too.
Enter before midnight on the last day of Super Doubles, Tuesday, Nov. 6. I'll post the winner Wednesday morning, Nov. 7
Happy shopping and happy commenting.

TRying to get myself together and back maybe tomorrow...I'm loving your site...thanks for all of your hard work. Where do you get the zip binder?...I tried to get it from the site listed here, but it allowed me to register and sign in, but that was it...
Super Doubles - HT & Lowes Foods
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 17:38 — dombekbI made it out to both HT and Lowes Foods. Been to both stores twice so far; will probably go to each one once more on the last day - gotta stock up on the deals since this will be the last super doubles event for the year since we have the holidays coming. Got quite a bit of free and cheap items (FREE - deodorant, Nestle cookie dough, Campbell's skillet sauce, and much more).
Super Doubles
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 16:25 — janaug21I went to both Harris Teeter and Lowes Food. I saved about 60 % at both stores. I may go to HT again today with some new coupons. I love saving money!!
Super Doubles
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 13:35 — taiwanbearI hit Harris Teeter on Saturday and saved almost $60, a 50% savings. I was very happy.
I scored big on contact solutions that were part of E-Vic special and double coupons on $1.50.
I also received a $10 off for spending $40 from Harris Teeter, which was great!
I planned to stop by Lowes foods on my way home tonight and see if there's any good deals left.
Harris Teeter
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 12:47 — morrisville_parentI went to Harris Teeter in Cary @ Tryon. Paid about $20 after sales & coupon. Would have been over $80 before. I was also able to use $10 off $40 that I got from HT by mail.
Lowes Gets My Vote
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 10:48 — goldensx2Lowes was well stocked. Harris Teeter I gave up on. Everything was wiped out. Only non-ss q's were deals for me.
super doubles
Tue, 11/06/2012 - 10:40 — carroll4me2Think we are lucky to have 2 events at the same time and that they last the whole week. In the "old" days they just lasted 3 or 4 days so little chance of getting any cheap stuff, but now there is at least a hope of a restock. Also want to thank the staff who always seem to be willing to work with couponers. Long may it continue

Super Doubles
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 19:09 — fscottWe got into town from Boston on Saturday night, so we had a little bit of time to gather up some coupons. I was a little disappointed with this trip, but I guess we did okay for not having much time to research. We got cottonelle wipes (had a kimberly-clark coupon for $2), Dawn 9oz detergent, Dawn 20oz hand renewal, 2 yakisobas, febreze spray, v8 fusion smoothie, waggin train dog freshies, secret deodorant, crest, 2 aquafresh, stouffer's family size, dannon oikos, yoplait 2 pk w granola. Coupons tendered=42.02 and my total was $6.51. Stouffer's was the most expensive item at 2.99 after coupons!
Gift Card Contest
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 14:18 — Sparkler789I had a pretty good shopping experience with Super Doubles at Harris Teeter this weekend. My only embarrassing moment was when I tried to get a box of cereal on the top shelf that was just out of my reach. I did a little jump to grab it, and ended up knocking ten boxes of cereal onto the floor. I quickly picked them up and ran away from the scene of the crime.
Super doubles
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 13:59 — abcd3569I finally had some luck at Lowe's Foods and was able to get the Smart Balance milk for free...was able to get 2 containers. Yay!
Too late for a lot of freebies
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 13:01 — laurenandreI had plans to go out of town on the morning of Halloween and didn't get back until last night. I was bummed to be missing out of Super Doubles but went this AM. As I predicted, several of the freebies were already wiped out. Mostly the Febreeze products. I still got free Truvia, Secret, McCormick spices and dog treats and lots of good deals on other items, including Pampers which is always nice to get a break on. I will try another HT later today or tomorrow to see if they have some of the other products I was looking for in stock. Even with my tardiness, I am still overall pleased with my deals. Love to see that long cash register receipt print with all those coupons!
Super Doubles
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 06:52 — bcmunnsHT and Lowes both having super doubles in the same week can really make a person tired but oh so much fun--I have done several shops and all have gone well and I had no issues with any of my coupons but did with ZVR but HT fixed it right up with no problem--Now I would like to have a triples event--LOL
New Couponer Outshines Mom
Sun, 11/04/2012 - 19:05 — ronnywAfter taking my daughter to a coupon class, she jumped right in and really showed her Mom up and just 'left me in the dust'. She quickly got 'organized' by getting her notebook organized with the dividers that I bought for her at the class and we headed out to HT. She just sailed right down the aisles with her opened notebook while her Mom struggled with her 3 groups of coupons clipped together with paper clips...looking frantically through each group to find the coupon that 'she just knew she had brought'...but couldn't find! :( She did very well with her Super Doubling and was a good example to me about gettin' with it!! I taught her well (lol) !! Isn't the saying ...Do as I say do, not as I do!! haha
P.S. If I win the $25 gift card, I will surely give it to my daughter for being such a great teacher and example to her Mom!!! :)
HT Super Doubles Success!
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 22:24 — KramgurlSpent $25.47. Saved $13.84 with my Vic card and saved $55.84 using coupons. Not bad :). All of my coupons went through except for the Secret Deodorant. Neither my e-vic or regular coupon worked. The manager overrode the $1 (doubled) coupon, but I wasn't able to use my $1 e-vic. They were out of the Febreeze car fresheners at the HT @ Chatham Downs. Here are the items I bought:
Campbell's Skillett Sauce (I know this was free at LF..but didn't want to drive there :), 2 McCormick shakers, 2 McCormick season packets, Equal, Kraft Homestyle, Oxy Clinical treatment pads (GREAT deal on these!), Men's vitacraves, Dove Bodywash, V8 smoothie, Secret Deodorant, Smithfield smoked sausage, OM Center cut bacon (my HT only had 3 packages left!), Folgers gormet carmel drizzle K-Cups, and a Shick Quattro Styler .
We plan on going back tomorrow to buy our typical groceries, and I have some great coupons to match! Thank you Amy for introducing me to couponing during the last HT Super Doubles!!
Coupons @ HT by the Holiday Display
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 22:42 — KramgurlI forgot to mention that I found a booklet full of coupons by the Holiday display (by the bread). It was hidden, but I found it! I'm not sure if all HT are doing this or just the one @ Chatham Downs.
Just a small one
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 21:45 — rlwertheimerI only used two coupons on two products today at HT, but spend less than $3 and saved about $7. Happy about that!

Souper Doubles
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 14:35 — ipjanetMy happiest find at Harris Teeter was Raisin Bran - through my eVic email, the price was $1.97 a box. With a $1 off 2 coupon doubled, I got 2 boxes for 97 cents each.
Better late than never...
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 11:24 — stephgarnerI feel like I'm a bit late to this party, but... :-)
Went to HT this morning for my second SD trip so far. Spent $9.53 OOP and saved $78.84! I'm WAY pleased with that. Had a RC for SB milk, so got 3 half gallons for free (my favorite price); also had a RC for Honey Nut Cheerios that I used, which isn't included in the savings above, and had a couple of lower-value coupons that were about to expire. Got free ham steaks, free nectresse sweetener, even one more free Truvia. Got cheap bacon and Stove Top stuffing, and a couple of those Stouffers casseroles that we love so much. Very pleased with this morning's outing.
Thursday's senior shop was $11.44 OOP and savings of $47.87. That was pasta day for me -- stocked up for the local food bank (and thanks to the great coupon angel who offered me one of her coupons so I could max out at 3 coupons for that product!), along with a free Kraft mac and cheese, and some of the Barilla meals. My "expensive" items on that shop were cheeses -- I've been wanting to try the mini Babybel cheese, so the vic special and ZVR lined up nicely for that, and I bought some of the Parmesan Reggiano that others have raved about. A small chunk was $3.92 (less the 5% senior discount) instead of the $9.80 it was marked.
I'm heading back to HT tomorrow for round 3, since I used all 20 of my double-able coupons this morning, and didn't get all the way through my list. :-)

Super Doubles
Sat, 11/03/2012 - 10:18 — erika483I hit both HT and Lowes this morning. I spent about $25 and saved $85. I've saved a higher percentage in the past, but this time I got a lot of things that we were desperately in need of so I'm pleased. Only big disappointment was the lack of Smart Balance milk at Lowes, but I'm not exactly surprised.
I was really pleased with the Customer Service at Lowes this morning. I bought 6 of the McCormmick Parsley flakes for $1.65 and had 3 of the $1.75/2 coupons. I noticed that they didn't double. The manager came over and said that they didn't double because the coupon value doubled was more than the purchase. I asked if they would do like HT and double it up to the purchase price. She quickly double checked the official policy and when it didn't forbid it, she pulled out a calculator and manually gave me the $4.65 off. It never hurts to ask!
Ok deals
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 22:56 — ctondee31205Like one person already said "not great but not shabby" I ditto that. My one gripe they were of course out of 95% of the free items. Reall wanted to get the Truvia and nectresse for my father in law. Got decent deals though at both HT and LF
Thanks
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 21:20 — sammyjo1392Thanks for all your work for us. I feel like I spent the day in the grocery stores as I went to H.T. and Lowe's for myself and again to Lowe's and Kroger's with my mother. On one Lowe's trip I spent $14.31 and saved $35.72. H.T. spent $36.69 and saved $57.69. I have to say though, I have done better.
I still need to make a trip back to Kroger's with coupons to stock up for Thanksgiving.
not too shabby but not too super either
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 21:00 — sschwingerI did a quick Lowes and got 3 Kix, 3 pasta, 3 Dole jc., 2 cinnamon. Was excited for the prices but there was no Smart milk left. I went back today and still no milk
At HT I spent 128.31 and saved 111.59. That included 5 packs of chicken breast, 2 brats, 2 sausage, 4 London Broil and 2 large packs Stew beef. Was super happy with the flour and sugar for the evic! Got the secret deo and 2 Kraft micro mac & cheese for free. Was mad at myself for forgetting to make sure the cashier used the coupon on the blue bunny ice cream but might go back to the store to see if they will make good on that.
Thank you Amy for all the help!!! You are doing a wonderful job!
Super Doubles
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 19:33 — Caitlyn923I went to both Harris Teeter and Lowes foods. I spent a total of $3 and saved $70! This was the best super doubles I've had!
Great Job!!
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 21:22 — sammyjo1392Great job. Hope I get that good!
Successful Senior Shopping at HT
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 17:29 — couponnanaSuccessful Senior Shopping at HT Thursday! Delighted to get the deals on K-Cups: Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice; Folgers Caramel Drizzle and Vanilla Biscotti; Barista Prima different roasts (new for me); and Apple Cider. Deals = sales, coupons, super doubles on those coupons, senior discount; and prescription transfer credits! WOW!!! Created my holidays' K-Cups stockpile! And, today I see I have an e-vic special for Green Mountain K-Cups $4.97 on Saturday - limit 2. Now, I will only need some Swiss Miss K-Cups! Also, impressed with the restocking efforts at HT Crescent Commons and Tryon/Walnut in Cary and the friendliness and customer support at these stores! A produce person pointed out the Wholly Quacamole coupons and there was an abundant supply of quacamole available. Thank you HT! A gift card would surely buy some Swiss Miss K-Cups for the holidays :-) Thank you, Amy, for all you do!!!
HT SUPER DOUBLES GIVEAWAY
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 16:35 — karsin2537Went to both stores. At HT got 96.00 worth of groceries, paid 17.07!!! Loaded up on cinnamon & sage, smithfield sausages, ground pork, campbells skillet sauces, secret deodorant, got the meal deal, etc. Used 19 coupons plus a $5.00 Kroger coupon.
At Lowes, got 46.00 worth of groceries for 23.00, including free smart balance milk, dole juices for 50 cents, quaker oatmeal, 50 cents, etc.
Thanks Amy for putting it all together for us! Also, a shout out to my cpn swap ladies.... you know who you are!!
~ Karen
I think the prices even out.
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 16:09 — tammy_baldwinWhen there are SD events at both HT and LF, I try to go to both. For the items I regularly buy and use coupons for, the prices are close. LF is cheaper on some and HT is cheaper on others so I think it evens out.
I have only been once so far to HT and they were out of everything I wanted (Heritage on Thursday afternoon) except for the Ore-Ida french fries. They are BOGO and I had a $1.50/3 printable from somewhere so I got 3 bags of frozen potatoes for about $1.75. I like to use the hash browns in casseroles and chicken pie.
Looking forward to some good deals at LF later this weekend or early next week.
I'd call it a Harris Teeter Success :)
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 14:29 — samira0206Once I found out about Super Doubles at Harris Teeter starting this week, I was getting all my coupons ready. I had a great list ready, and was awake bright and early Wednesday morning!
I got everything I wanted except Suave lotion, which I got a rain check for. My total started at about $65 and came down to about $17. It's an ok price, but it wasn't the correct price. I saw that the 2 boxes of Rice Krispies cereal that bought rang up at full price($3.59) instead of the $1.99 sale price! 0_0 Wow, I never knew cereal was soooo expensive. I only tend to buy it on sale. Turns out the sale tag was old, but they gave me the first box free and the second one at the sale price. Bundle that with the $1/2 Rice krispy cereals, I got two 12oz boxes of Rice Krispies for free! Now, I need to find some marshmellow peeps on sale to make rice krispy treats. :)
Anywho, that brought my total price down some more, but then I remembered that I forgot my two $2/1 smithfield ham coupons, which brought my total to $4.33. I was a very happy camper that's now stocked up with lots of Thanksgiving meat. ^_^
HT Super Doubles
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 13:26 — under_the_elI choose Harris Teeter most of the time. Got the great deal on McCormick spices, especially the cinnamon, which I use in so many things.
HT for me!
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 13:12 — gojeanHarris Teeter is our go to store for e-vic and vic specials as we don't have a Lowes near us.
super doubles
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 11:33 — BABYBARBERIt was my first time to get there (Cornerstone HT) :"early"-before 8, but I found all that I was looking for. I used 16 coupons, then got 2 at checkout that I went back for-free nectresse and cheap Idahoan potatoes. I bought quite a few things for donating. (Thanks, Amy for that inspiration.) I do expect go back before Tuesday. I did not even realize Lowe's was having their super doubles! Did I miss that in your blog?
My unexpected find- BOGO discontinued Smithfield bacon (12 oz "split" packs) with attached $1 coupons.
I also got some of HT's E-vic specials for baking. In total-after e-viucs and super doubles- I saved half!
Amy rocks! :)
Fri, 11/02/2012 - 01:27 — jjtn17My mini couponer (less than 1 year old) and I did great the first day and pretty well today. I think I had around 90 percent savings the first day. WOOHOO! Thank you for all your hard work! :D
I had a few coupon helps.
Happy couponing! :D See ya on the trails.
Super Doubles
Thu, 11/01/2012 - 23:34 — kenski90When Lowes and Harris Teeter both do Super Doubles, I go to Lowes first because they are generally not as busy (at least the one on Capital Blvd in North Raleigh). Lowes had everything I was looking for and I ended up spending about $11.00, which was a savings of 66%. I also went to Harris Teeter for a few items and ended up spending about the same amount and saved a bit more, thanks to e-vic specials. Harris Teeter stores do not seem eager to restock during these coupon events or for certain advertised specials, like the Dixie Crystals sugar, which is on sale and can be matched with a $.55 coupon, which will double. I will say that it is worth looking around the store because you might find some items on endcaps and other places. I was able to find the Dixie Crystal sugar by searching around. Overall, I was happy with both stores.

Thu, 11/01/2012 - 15:36 — chanssWent to Harris Teeter because it was closer. May try Lowe's later this week. Spent $36.80, saved $69.80 which included $5/$50 from Krogers and ZVR's which had to be manually added as they did not come off. Used 20 coupons that doubled plus 2 Catalina's that didn't. Found most of what I wanted but a few things were out. Also had a few more coupons I could have used but was at my limit, so I may go back another time.
Always love super doubles
Thu, 11/01/2012 - 14:23 — eblanchardI felt I had some good purchases... less expensive canned pumpkin, free lipton soup mixes and wet ones wipes, Good deals on some frozen items with a few wine tags I had as well. Wish I had the smithfield coupons and spices (Our newspaper subscription had just run out and I didn't pick up the paper that weekend!) That's the way it works sometimes though. Still appreciate the deals I can get!

Thu, 11/01/2012 - 14:08 — northraleighHarris Teeter is always my choice for convenience and customer service.
I shopped today around noon and only had coupons for free cinnamon and 2 bags of sugar. They substituted Domino for the advertised special and still accepted my coupon. I'll take that any day over a rain check. I got BOGO chicken and stew beef, and Ore Ida sweet potato fries, sale priced turkey meat balls, ham steak, Blue Bunny Cones and Cabot Greek Yogurt. Saved $42.
