Kroger ending its rewards program

Bookmark and Share

Bad news for loyal Kroger shoppers.

The supermarket chain is ending its quarterly rewards program as of Dec. 31.

The announcement came in the most recent mailing of rewards, which began arriving in the mailboxes of Triangle Kroger customers this week.

The popular program has been rewarding customers with one point for every $1 spent, 50 points for qualifying prescription purchases and 10 points for using reusable shopping bags.

Customers who earned 500 points in a quarter were mailed a $5 certificate to be used like cash -- plus an additional $1 for each additional 100 points accumulated.

With the program ending Dec. 31, customers will receive their final rewards in February.
