Check your newspapers this morning for a Sears sales circular.
On the front is a coupon for $5 off a $5 purchase, an extraordinarily rare and generous coupon.
Valid Wednesday and Thursday only, the coupon is good on "any clothing, accessories, intimates, diamond jewelry, footwear and Kenmore small kitchen electrics purchase of $5 or more."
The coupon also says it's good on regular, sale and clearance prices.
Be sure to read the fine print, however, because there are a number of exclusions, including fragrances, cosmetics, gemstones, gold and silver jewelry, "Special Purchases, Price Drop Items," etc.
Even so, you should be able to find something for almost nothing.
On page 2 of the circular, for example, kids' pajamas are advertised 60 percent off. Regular prices range from $20 to $36, with sale prices beginning at $8.
That translates to three bucks for a pair of pj's. Sounds like a frugal holiday gift to me.
