*Duke Energy customers in North Carolina can sign up to get free CFL bulbs here. It's part of an effort by the company to help its customers conserve energy.

*Here's one for teachers: Staples is having its annual Teacher Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at stores in the Triangle. The first 100 teachers at each store get a free thank you gift bag.
