Mother's Day is Sunday, but there's no need to panic, even if you're short on cash.
This year, there are enough freebies to keep Mom busy all day long. And she definitely won't go hungry.
Keep reading for the complete list of freebies, which includes free DVD rentals, free admission to an IMAX movie, free breakfasts, free lunch, free desserts and more.

*Take Mom to lunch at Firehouse Subs and her sandwich is free when you buy another sandwich, chips and a medium drink. The offer is on the FireHouse Subs Facebook page. You must click the Like button to get the coupon, which is good Sunday only.
*Treat Mom to a cup of coffee at Caribou Coffee on Sunday and she sips free with the purchase of your cup. The Mom's Day BOGO offer is Sunday only.
*Michaels craft stores have a free "make it and take it" class scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Kids ages 3 and up are invited to make Mother's Day buttons. Check your local Michael's store to be sure it is participating.
*Get a free chocolate cake for Mom at KFC when you buy any 10-piece (or larger) meal.
*Redbox is inviting folks to send Mother's Day e-cards -- and free movie rental codes -- to "everyone who is a mom or has a mom."
The code is good for one single-day standard DVD rental. It's valid Mother's Day only, which is Sunday, May 13. Sign up on the Redbox Facebook page.
For being so thoughtful, Redbox will reward you with an additional code for a free standard rental. It's good through May 20.
*Bath & Body Works is giving away free travel-size items from its Signature collection.
Send your favorite mom -- or friend -- a message through Facebook and they'll receive your greeting along with a coupon for the freebie.
*Treat Mom to a free 3-D movie on the big screen at the IMAX Theater at Marbles children's museum on Saturday or Sunday. Moms watch free with a paid child's admission to the documentary, "To The Arctic 3D," which is narrated by Meryl Streep and tells the story of a mother polar bear and her twin 7-month-old cubs.
*Kids can take their moms to participating McDonald's restaurants on Mother's Day for a free breakfast. Bring her in between 7 and 11 a.m. and her breakfast, along with a coffee or soda, is on the house when you dine inside the restaurant.

*Treat mom to a free dessert at participating McAlister's Deli locations. No purchase necessary. (Call to verify before you head out.) There are numerous McAlister's throughout North Carolina, including two in Durham, one in Raleigh and one in Chapel Hill. Click HERE to see a complete list.
*Take mom for a stroll around Lakeside Gardens near Lake Wheeler in Raleigh on Saturday. The free garden tour also includes a free plant for every mom. The self-guided tours are from 1 to 6 p.m. The garden is located at 7020 Penny Road, Raleigh.
*Take the kids to the N.C. Museum of History on Saturday, May 12, to learn about North Carolina's rhododendrons. While there, they can participate in the museum's "make and take" program to craft a paper rhododendron for mom. It's a drop-in program that runs from 1 to 3 p.m.
*If you have a trip to IKEA near Charlotte planned for Mother's Day, mom gets a free breakfast in the cafeteria until 11 a.m. On the menu: scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes and a cup of coffee. There's a limit of one free meal per family.
