UPDATED: Food Lion Double Coupon good deals list

Bookmark and Share

Update: When I shopped this morning in Apex, I purchased three of the "if sale continues" items on my good deals list. The Colgate toothpaste and Krave cereal are both still on sale, which means FREE toothpaste and 40-cent Krave cereal. The shelf tags still said the Archway cookies were on sale but they rang up regular price. Customer service very kindly honored the shelf tag.

Food Lion kicks off a two-week-long double-coupon event at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 -- the very first time the chain has offered to double the value of coupons in the Triangle.

To give you a head start on your savings, I've compiled a list of good deals based on regular prices. And I've added a few more with confirmed new sale prices, thanks to the good folks over at AFullCup.com where the ad is posted.

I walked the aisles of the Food Lion on Williams Street in Apex, matching those prices to current manufacturer coupons we've received here in the Triangle, along with readily available printable coupons to come up with the list.

In some instances, I've noted potential deals on items that are currently on sale. Unfortunately, Food Lion's shelf tags don't indicate if a sale is continuing so some of the deals won't be certain until Wednesday morning.

I'll add more deals as I spot them. And please feel free to add any deals that you've discovered so we can all save even more.

I've included a list of Food Lion's double coupon guidelines at the very bottom of the post.

One last thing: Remember, this is Food Lion's first experience with doubling coupons in our area so be patient with your cashiers and managers.

The rules:

  • Up to 20 coupons may be doubled per customer per visit per day. That means, similar to Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods, customers may only double 20 coupons per day.
  • Coupons up to 99 cents in value will be doubled. That means a coupon with a face value of 75 cents, for example, will be worth $1.50.
  • Coupons must match the items purchased.
  • No cash back will be given for coupons that exceed the price of the item.
  • The double coupon promo doesn't address the number of identical coupons a customer may use. Food Lion's regular coupon policy states no more than 10 identical coupons can be used in a transaction.

I think they need to update their registers so that they can read the new coupons.

I would love to win.

Thanks for posting

Thanks so much Amy for all the hard work you do posting this information.  I know not everyone will need everything you post, but it sure helps me!

Food Lion Doubles

Based on your list of deals posted, I didn't see anything to get too excited about given the cost of gas these days!  I don't think it will be worth the time or trouble.

Food Lion

I stopped by FL this afternoon and saw the Old El Paso taco seasoning packages for 69 cents and if you have the printable for 50 cents that will be free or maybe overage depending on how the registers work. The printable expires March 9th.

Nice find, Betty! Thanks for
