gift card

A win would be just in time for the march doubles!

finally got there

barely in time - spent $60, saved $30. About $9 of that thirty saved was sale items and the rest was coupons. I had one coupon that did not double and oddly enough it was only a 55 cent coupon, nothing to do with the super doubles, and it did not say anything on it about do not double. Also had a ZVR that did not work but I happened to have actually printed my list so I had proof of it. Took a few minutes at customer service but they made it all right.

Ht super doubles

$35 for $15 at HT. Thanks for the.class on Sat.

I could use it!

I bought the soy sauce, yogurt and milk.....don't recall the savings, but I did not spend $10!!!

Super Doubles

I did pretty well, but there were quite a few bare spots on shelves where the free items should be.

HT super doubles

Spent $38, saved $9. Not too bad, bought meat and other things without coupons. Visited several stores durig the week, felt they did a better job of having sale items in stock.

My first Super Double Coupon Experience

was exhilarating!! First trip I sent $18.18!! I have been HT everyday and I just keep getting better and better with my shopping excursions! Amy thank you for the tips from the coupon class this Saturday. I won a $10 target gift card....and I when I win this drawing...I'm going to save it for the next Super Double! Thanks for all of your hard work!!

Did okay

I bought a bunch of stuff that I had coupons for that weren't the best deals but I needed them (e.g. Sarna lotion and Venus razor). My ZVRs actually came off without my having to go to customer service. I saved about $69 and spent $73. I hope Harris Teeter sticks around and doesn't sell.

Doubles

I thought I already commented on this but don't see it, so please forgive me if there is a double comment.

I have now made 4 trips to HT:) I had 13 Bailey's coupons so my fridge is stocked with coffee creamer. Thank goodness! I've found everything I wanted on each trip except the Johnsonville Sausages. Overall I spent about 17 and saved $48

Super Double Savings

Spent $9.21 and got credit for $23.06 in coupons. Couldn't - or at least wouldn't - have done so well without your help. Thanks Amy!

HT SD

Best deals - free shampoo and conditioner, free cornbread mix. Best best deal - 2 (BOGO) blue diamond almonds at 79 cents a jar - thanks to a $1 off salty snack coupon. Thanks Amy, and thanks to my friend who is teaching me the couponing ropes!

So many good deals on *basics* like milk and cereal!

I've been to HT several times this week, and picked up a lot of items that are important to my household as well as some freebies that are helpful to friends and neighbors. I ended up with (among other things) four boxes of Cheerios for a total of 1.07 plus tax; half gallons of milk for free; Finish dishwasher detergent for 40c (*so* important to get those rainchecks!)... AND -- two boxes of hair dye (regular price 8.99 ea) for 50c ea! Milk, cereal, hair dye - the true necessities of life.
Thanks for everything you've taught us, Amy!

Think I left comment on wrong blog so here goes. I thought I was getting better with coupons but after reading comments, my savings seem rather shabby compared to many(about 50%). evic coupons also did not get discounted but HT's generous sales and good quality of products make me feel guilty about claiming refund so I have not returned to the store. I am getting savvier about deciding whether to buy something just because of a coupon so overall I think I've done pretty well in terms of saving on my grocery bill. Thanks to your great tips I am for the first time in many years reconsidering my Costco membership renewal. Thank you!

good stuff

Phew - SD fatigue! I actually stopped in each day except Monday so far, looking for particular items in case they restocked - some did and for others I got rain checks. Was planning NOT to go on Sat but couldn't resist the milk special that day. My Kikkoman soy sauce printable from SmartSource did not double, but CS took care of it. My Hinode rice FB coupon did not scan at all, but the cashier verified the purchase and manually entered it. All other coupons processed properly and we have a happy pantry and fridge. Thank you so much HT!

Super Doubles

Went at about 9am and already a few items were sold out. Overall I got $54 worth of groceries for $12 after coupons. Not too shabby.

Superdoubles

I was thrilled to get two of the Campbell's Go soups free plus I got a coupon for $1.50 off the next order. When I tried to use that they tried to double that too but later realized they weren't supposed to double that one.

HT Super Doubles

Hair products were my big finds: 2 hair dyes for $4; shampoo and conditioner for $1.29. Also the Hefty bags. Had a special special when HT corrected a wrong price from the previous day (shelf tag for Smithfield bacon in error) and I got 1 free and 1 for 2.50 after coupon. Cheap bacon.
I, too, got milk. Love the HT $1.00 pizza dough specials; 4.99 sub sandwiches all week long and last weeks BOGO Fresh Market deli meats and cheeses.
I echo all those who applaud the HT staff. They are always accommodating. I, too, hope the sale doesn't ruin HT!

NEWBIE!....and excited!!

This was my first double coupon experience and couponing experience in general. I had a great time and thank people like you helping people like me get started. I have a little one and this new mentality will help me save lots of money for her and keep the pantry stocked with new exciting things for my husband and myself. I went for two main trips this week. The first one was regular price $85.81 and I spent $11.34. Today I went before the doubles ended and spent $6.70 before savings it was $79.39. Not to bad in my opinion for my first week. Just have to keep from making small trips checking for items to be restocked. Just have to learn to settle for rainchecks....they are just as good!

Harris Teeter double couponing

I only got delmonte fruit cups. Uncle bens rice, Belvia breakfast cookies and Yoplait yogurt, didn't see a lot of good deals

Shopping Trip

I waited to get Sundays coupons and now I can't go because I'm sick. Bummer.

Harris Teeter Super Doubles Success's

I have went everyday so far but the best deal that i got was 205.68 regular priced on sale for 135.72 I paid 5.22!!!!! Thanks for the contest!!!

Super Doubles

Very good trips. Best trip I paid only 38 cents OOP!

HT Super Doubles

Cost $40.79, paid only $13.51. I'm happy. :)

ZVR Woe

I always look forward to HT Super Doubles, it is so much fun to save $$. This go round, however, had a few bumps in the road. Particullary with the ecoupons. After planning my trips, searching through the store, and the cashing out process; I found that the total was not coming to what I calculated. Come to find out, the ZVRs (ecoupons) were not going through. Apparently they are having some trouble with the system. But nonetheless, HT employees are always pleasant and customer service is always there to fix it :-)

coupons

I was lucky to find 2 sticky coupons on the evic specials of frito lay and each for a $1--made those really cheap

HARRIS TEETER SUPER DOUBLES

I did well and saved about 75% off.

Super Doubles

I went to the HT in Apex first thing Saturday morning and they were wonderfully stocked. Even with my gallon of milk and 3 loaves of bread I got $78 of groceries for $7.75. The only snafu I had was that I forgot to check my receipt and didn't notice my $2 ZVR for the Dove body wash didn't come off. Luckily I only live a few minutes away, so I swung back by and they gave me the $2 with no hesitation. I love HT customer service :)

HT Super Doubles/Gift Card

I went Saturday a.m. to the Leesville Rd./Strickland store in Raleigh. The only thing they didn't have in stock was the cooked perfect meatballs. I asked the lady behind the meat counter if they had any in the back - she happily went back there & got some for me. I got 2 packages on sale for $5.00 & I had 2 $1.00 coupons which, when doubled, left me only paying $1.00 total for both bags. My husband was pretty excited about this one because I don't usually make spaghetti with meatballs. I spent around $25 & saved over $50.00. After I got home, I noticed that one $1.00 item & two $.50 items didn't double so I called the store. They said to just bring my receipt in on my next trip & they'll refund my money. It pays to looks closely to your receipts & know exactly how much you should save for each & every item:-)

Harris Teeter Super Doubles

I had a rather productive outing. Saved approximately 50% however all of the bath and hair products were gone.
I guess I will have to get out earlier.

I did not go early and

I did not go early and several items were already gone but I still managed to pick up coffee and few other items.
Thankyou Amy!

Rather sleep

Sleep is more important to me than making sure I get to the store early enough to stand in line waiting for the doors to open.
I prefer Sunday nights and just getting what is left (which more times than not -- plenty). My cashier was funny after ringing it up: "It was close to $200 before!" It only got down to $84, but I did take the opportunity to give him a quick lesson on why he should be using them as well.
(BTW -- Falls Pointe HAS to have the best set of employees. Man, I hope the possible sale does not impact their attitudes.)

Harris Teeter SD

I saved over 50%, which I always makes me happy. Got most of the deals on my list. Staff was super friendly and checkout was a breeze.

Still Don't Get It

I took about 25% off my bill, which I consider pretty good. Still, I had to buy fruit, fresh vegetables, and meat and there are no coupons for those so my bill was still about $80. Maybe if we could live off of processed food, frozen stuff, and snack food, then I could feed my family for $5/week but as long as I cook and use fresh food it isn't going to happen.

HT Double Coupons

We were at Kure Beach most of the week so I tried the Wilmington HT on Carolina Beach Rd. I did well but did not have many coupons. Got a couple of things free which is always good. Thanks for all of your advice.

HT Super Doubles

I've been couponing for about 5 years and love it. This is absolutely the first time I went on the first day of super doubles and/or triples. I was in line at 7 am on Wednesday with a total of $105.14 and spent $21.47. I went back two more times, in all $357.21 and out of pocket $63.95. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the wonderful match ups you provide. Thanks for all your hard work.

super double coupons

did well, saved just over half! got the best deals on cereal and juice, which was great since I was running low on both!

THIS COULD BE FUN

My husban has been trying to explain couponing to me as he has been at this longer than me.Your class brought more info to me and after digesting all that info, I can get into this. The kitchen table is full of coupons and these deals make more sence now -- thanks a lot

Super Doubles

I managed to get to HT on Saturday and got three free Hormel Compleats (I had 3 $1 off coupons) - my husband takes those to work sometimes so that was nice. And the cheap milk, of course - that was actually my main reason for going. I have 5 gallons of milk in the freezer now, all bought at under $3. I love "shopping" for milk from my freezer and not having to get to the store when I run out.

Attempt 1 = Success

My wife and I have just grown accustomed to the fact that they will never have all of the items I want, so we just go when we have time and do the best we can. I lucked out because this trip was late on Wednesday night (fewer people in my way). I was able to save $28.XX and actually spent $12.XX on my $41.XX bill. My normal late night cashier wasn't working, so I was able to impress another person this week. She asked me my secret and I told her to learn the ways of Amy Dunn over at the Centsible Saver blog. My normal cashier guy will give me tips on when to expect items to be restocked. When i thanked him last time he told me that he likes the competition we give him. He always tries to save more than all of his late night couponing companions.

Loving this!

Amy, thank you as always for the super good deals.
I've gone twice so far, first time spent 12.68, saved 68.08, second time spent 13.51, saved 59.06, so works out to 17%.
Nice surprise was getting two Townhouse crackers, 2 for 4, had a 1 off two coupon, and had a 1 zvr come off.

I love HT

I always get great deals at Harris Teeter. This was no exception. I spent $9 and saved $76. During super doubles, I stock up on items that have a long shelf life or that can freeze. It is always important to watch the register at check out and to review your receipt before you leave the store. As the cashier was ringing me up, I noticed that one did not double. I was not over the limit (20) and it did not state DND so I questioned it and a manager corrected it. None of my ZVR digital coupons came off and they refunded my $5 at customer service. Did I mention that I love Harris Teeter? They are always so helpful and generous during their promotions. Lets hope whoever buys them does the same.

Rain checks and coupons

I had some Smart Balance rain checks - a half gallon for half price - so each carton rang up for $2.33. Throw in the $1.50 coupons which doubled to $3, and I had a 70 cent moneymaker for each of the three cartons I bought. In the end, I spent $4.04 and save $59.72.

Thanks for the great class

Hi Amy-

Very enjoyable class - I learned a great deal!

HT

cheap milk today and a few double couple items. thanks amy!

Thanks

Thanks for a great blog and helpful hints and today's coupon class!

hope it continues

I hope IF HT is bought that the new company continues the coupon special weeks like super doubles. even better if they become like Giant stores and unlimited doubles (like Kroger) not just 20.

Ht really stocked up for this one

My Ht really made an effort to put coupon match-ups in full view. made it super easy to grab and go. Have to go back to get some bogo ziplocks. love HT

HARRIS TEETER SUPER DOUBLES

I don't really have many coupons anymore, so unless I get some great ones this Sunday, I'm going to skip this Super Doubles event

HT Superdoubles

I hit them up for just a few items since I'm well stocked from past Superdoubles, spending $3.72 and saving $20.78 with coupons. I forgot to load the Cheerios ZVR so I missed out on that trifecta.

Go EARLY at the start of Super Double Coupon Week !

I didn't heed your suggestion to arrive by 6:30am and found at 8am several sale items cleared out. I'll follow your instructions next time !! The North Durham store did not have the Johnsonville sausages on sale at all. I spent less than $7 and saved $28. A good return for my time since I am very new to this !!
