UNC's Nogueira finalist for player of year

Junior forward Casey Nogueira, who led North Carolina to the
national championship in women's soccer, is one of three finalists for the 2008 MAC Hermann Trophy, the collegiate game's highest individual honor.

The others are Pac-10 player of the year Christiana DiMartino
of UCLA and 2006 MAC Hermann Trophy winner Kerri Hanks of Notre Dame. Division I coaches voted for the finalists. The winner will be announced Jan. 9.

Notre Dame in soccer final

A goal by Courtney Barg in the 15th minute stood up the rest of the game, and No. 1 Notre Dame held on to beat Stanford 1-0 tonight to reach the championship of the Women’s College Cup.
