Rare coupon on cool eco-friendly school supplies

Coupons on school supplies are pretty much a rarity so I was excited to spot one on B2P pens from Pilot.

I was also pretty psyched because the gel pen is made out of recycled water bottles. (B2P = bottle to pen.) It's part of Pilot's line of BeGreen products, which are manufactured from recycled products.

Give the gift of green with items from our gift guide

Going green is all about starting to make little changes that can make a big impact.

The holiday season is a perfect way to do just that. You can give green gifts, request them or buy a little something for yourself.

We have a few suggestions that we'll share during the season.

For instance: Takeya USA is a new company that focuses on Japanese inspired fashionable and healthy beverage makers and containers. Among its products are water bottles. Both portable and stylish, the bottles are made of glass and free from toxic chemicals (BPA free!), keeping your water fresh and without a plastic or metal taste.

Toss that bottled water for good

One of the easiest changes you can make environmentally is carrying a water bottle rather than buying bottled water and putting all that plastic into our landfills.

Yet water bottles can have their own issues, when it comes to cleaning them. Putting some plastic water bottles in a hot dishwasher can mean releasing toxins (BPA) into your water or just damaging them. Hand washing can leave a soapy taste or lead to mold if they aren't dried properly.

Happily, a cyclist has come up with Skweet, an all-natural, biodegradable powder that cleans and deodorizes plastic, aluminum and stainless steel sports bottles, and even hydration packs.
