USA Baseball's inaugural Women's Development Camp takes place this weekend at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary.

Details for that camp and camps in other sports, plus team tryouts, league registration, instruction and tournaments can be found in the Play! Recreational Sports Calendar below, an expanded version of the calendar that appears each Tuesday in the print edition Sports section. 

Prep basketball tournaments underway

The CHHS girls won their first-round game in the Carolina-Six Conference basketball tournament and will play at Orange tonight at 7 p.m. in a semifinal game.
Chapel Hill’s girls had a big fourth quarter Monday, including an 18-6 run, to down Northern Vance, 59-51, in the Carolina-Six’s first round. Ninth-graders Jamella Smith and Catherine Romaine both recorded double-doubles. Smith had game highs of 18 points and 22 rebounds, while Romaine had 12 points and 21 rebounds.
The CHHS boys’ team hosts Northern Vance at 7 p.m. tonight in their tournament’s semifinals. Orange plays at Southern Vance in the boys’ other semifinal.
In the Carolina-10, River Mill's girls play Cedar Ridge at 6 p.m. tonight, followed by a boys semifinal between Northwood and Granville Central at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Northwood's girls play Granville Central at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ semifinal between Carrboro and Cedar Ridge at 7:30 p.m.
East Chapel Hill is hosting the semifinals and finals of the PAC-6. The Wildcat boys play Riverside at 8 p.m. Thursday. The chanpionship finals are Friday, with games at 6 p.m. (girls) and 8 p.m. (boys).

Pistons and Cavs win Raleigh youth basketball championships

Seventy teams competed, but only two went undefeated, and that's how
the Pistons and the Cavs won Raleigh Parks and Recreation boys
basketball championships.

The Junior League Pistons and the Little League Cavs capped undefeated
seasons by winning their divisions in the City of Raleigh Youth
Basketball Championships played March 17 at the Barwell Road Community
Center.

Twenty-eight Junior League teams and 42 Little League teams are divided
over four Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department districts, program
manager David Tugwell said.

Bowlers roll their way to championships and perfect games

Triangle bowlers rolled perfect games in November, and others won tournaments in recent weeks.

The
Capital Area USBC Association, part of the U.S. Bowling Congress, has
released its official, audited results for two of its biggest fall
events - the B.H. Barbour Senior Men's Tournament and the CAUSBCA women's tournament - plus a list of 300 games.
