New iPad tests cool overheating claims; on par with other tablets
Submitted by matthewfortner on 03/28/2012 - 06:30Apple's new iPad has been a hot topic. First, it was a hot seller with 3 million purchased in its first weekend. Then came the complaints of the new iPad running too hot.
The results of Consumer Reports' testing received significant attention over the past few days. Though CR emphasized the 116 degrees Fahrenheit temperature it observed is not considered excessive, some found the triple digit heat alarming.
PC World and Wired conducted their own temperature tests and neither could replicate Consumer Reports' 116 degrees F.
