Piranhas take Tarheel Swimming Association title
Submitted by teribb on 08/02/2011 - 00:39The Tarheel Swimming Association has put its 41st annual summer recreational league into its history book, with the Prestonwood Piranhas again winning the overall title.
This year, the league grew to than 10,400 athletes ages 18 and younger on 78 teams from community pools around Wake County, TSA president Bob Goudreau reported.
Competition was held on Tuesday nights in June and July unless postponed to Wednesday because of storms. Nineteen teams won division championships.

Cary City Invitational swim meet celebrates milestone anniversary

More than 1,000 swimmers in six age divisions for boys and girls, plus a large contingent of volunteers, turned out for Saturday's competiton.

Tarheel Swimming Association competitors hit pool
Submitted by teribb on 06/15/2011 - 22:18The Tarheel Swimming Association splashed into community pools around Wake County on Tuesday night, starting the 41st season for the recreational summer league.
Each Tuesday through July 19, more than 10,000 athletes ages 18 and under on 78 teams will compete in dual meets, TSA president Bob Goudreau said.

MOR-Wolfpack Aquatics eighth at UltraSwim
Submitted by teribb on 05/24/2011 - 04:59Marlins Of Raleigh-Wolfpack Aquatics swimmers produced 148 points and finished eighth out of more than 200 teams at the May 12-15 Charlotte UltraSwim Grand Prix Meet at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, MOR coach Paul Silver said.
The USA Swimming event, with prize money of surpassing $50,000, drew Olympians including Michael Phelps, Cullen Jones, Ryan Lochte and Natalie Coughlin.
Spring brings summer camp registration

One way to get in some training is attending one of the many summer camps offered by public and private schools, colleges, nonprofit organizations and commercial enterprises.
Athletes even can take lessons from current and former professional players and coaches who make the Triangle their home.
