Main & Taylor's trunk show of Stuart Weitzman shoes has become a favorite for those who have tough sizes to fit, particularly those with very narrow feet. It's also a favorite show for those who are super picky. At the trunk show, you can pick the size, color and fabric and then place your order. Sort of like designing your own shoes.

The show is at M&T's Greensboro Tuesday and Wednesday and then comes to Raleigh to the Cameron Village store Thursday through Saturday.

Fleur Boutique in Cameron Village will have shoe designer Betta Carrano of Carrano Shoes (best known for its ballet flat ... one of the first!) at the store Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. She'll have with her the entire fall collection of Andrea Carrano shoes, including flats, wedges and kitten heels.

First the shorts, then the shoes. What a summer Michelle's had.

Apparently, the fashion press made a stink over the Crocs she wore out for lunch on Martha's Vineyard last week. No, not the kind that my hubby wears. The newer, more sandal-looking kind, which I thought were perfectly fine and even cute for a beach vacation. (Ok, maybe not Martha's Vineyard, but whatever, she's Michelle Obama.)

She apparently made up for her Crocs-faux pas by wearing asymmetric black sandals by Maison Martin Margiela, who is known for modern shoe designs. Check them out in the picture. (Personally, I like the dress more than the shoes. And check out those arms!)

Just when you thought you had a serious shoe addiction, along comes Fergie and her confession in Life & Style Weekly that she has 500 pairs of shoes.

Whew.

So now it makes sense why she recently launched two lines of affordable shoes called Fergie and Fergalicious by Fergie. (They're supposed to be in department stores such Nordstrom and Belk, priced from $69 to $129, this spring. Has anyone seen the brand yet?)

“I’m a girl, and I love accessories,” she says. “It’s one of the reasons I have huge closets, and we keep making room in the house for more closets. I don’t like to throw anything away.”

Moxie Kids in Cameron Village wants the old shoes of your kids.

It's all part of a shoe drive at the children's clothing and shoe store to help Soles4Souls, an international footwear charity that gives shoes to needy people around the world.

To give you an incentive, Moxie Kids is offering 15 percent off spring and summer shoes to those who bring in shoes (gently worn only, please).

The shoe drive starts today and runs through March 15.

Just a reminder about the shoe event this afternoon and Friday at Kristen's Shoe Boutique in Cary.

Ann Roth, a relatively young designer (who went to UNC) in the shoe business, will be at the store with a trunk show of her latest collections of 40s-inspired shoes. She'll also be taking orders for make-to-order espadrilles, which was how she got started in the shoe business.

With spikes, chains and triangle-shaped heels, Christian Siriano's new collection of shoes may not be for everyone. But isn't it nice to know that Payless is branching out with some funky, architectural looks?

Siriano introduced the line last week at NY Fashion Week as part of his fall collection, which had a distinct Egyptian feel to it.

Look for shoes with cone heels, hieroglyphic-like prints and turquoise satin.

Siriano didn't have much time to get the job done. He inked the deal with Payless in early December.

Look for the shoes in select stores (mind you, the only place I've ever seen the Lela Rose collection of shoes is at the Payless in midtown Manhattan) and online in the fall. They'll range in price from $25 to $45.

Brides-to-be, especially those who are on a budget, might want to check out Lela Rose's new collection of bridal shoes for Payless. The new line is called Unforgettable Moments by Lela Rose.

But heck, even if you aren't a budget, these are definitely worth checking into. I love the slingback platform to the right.

At $24.99, you can't beat the price. Especially considering most people never wear their wedding day shoes except down the aisle and for the first dance.

Look for five styles in the collection, with varying heel sizes. And the sizes go up to size 12.

Unfortunately, most Payless stores don't carry Lela Rose's shoes. But you can find them online at Payless.com.
