What to Watch on Friday: Clear eyes, full hearts say goodbye to "Friday Night Lights"

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - In tonight's 90-minute series finale, titled "Always," the Taylors make a big decision about their future, including a surprising choice by Julie. Elsewhere, the Lions play in the state championship game. The championship game and the Christmastime setting allow for lots of familiar faces to return to Dillon for the sake of our closure. This episode is rated 4 Kleenexes (out of 4).

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - The Royal New Zealand Navy ask the Shepherds to help them locate a missing Norwegian sailboat crew.

Betty Ford: The Real Deal (10pm, UNC-TV) - Produced by MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, this documentary explores the life of influential first lady, Betty Ford, who passed away last week. It's narrated by award-winning actress Jane Alexander and features never before seen photos and film footage, plus interviews with Mrs. Ford, her four children and close friends; as well as interviews with presidential historians Michael Beschloss, Richard Norton Smith, and former White House photographer David Hume Kennerly.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - In the Season 2 premiere, a duplicate Audrey Parker arrives in Haven amid a series of bizarre events that are similar to Biblical plagues.

The Soup Awards (10pm, E!) - Joel McHale honors unintentionally funny people and moments in pop culture.

Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings (10pm, IFC) - The guys do a spot for a California taxidermist.

"Rhett & Link" talk about their show, but not to us

Happiness wasn't in on the conference call with Rhett McLaughlin & Link Neal for their show "Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings" because IFC didn't send us a screener. (Don't you love the irony of a show about marketing with a flaw in its marketing plan?)

But we want to support our Tar Heels. So when IFC was gracious enough to send the transcript from the conference call, we selected some choice nuggets and decided to share.

One thing we learned, the guys are doing something new during the encore presentations of their shows:

Rhett & Link: Give me barbecue, or give me death

It is one of the key commandments of being Southern: Thou shalt let no claim of great barbecue go unchallenged. But I think we can agree that whatever your preferred style (and I should note that, while I've learned to like North Carolina barbecue, I still consider it no substitute for The Real Thing), if you're not craving a barbecue sammich after checking out this tutorial from the music/comedy duo Rhett & Link, there's something wrong with you.

I'll take mine with a Big Red!

(Thanks, Patty.)
